About this analysis

Anadolu Agency reports a Qatar Gas Transport Company statement that its LNG carrier Al Mayeda was struck by unidentified objects in Gulf waters on Friday evening, with no injuries or environmental damage. What it gets right

  • “struck by 'unidentified objects' in Gulf waters: Company”

The headline keeps the company's own words in quotation marks and attributes the claim to the company. It does not invent an attacker that no source has named.

  • “the company said in a statement published on the Qatar Stock Exchange”
