Israeli forces are violating the agreement to end the war and cease fire, signed with Arab and American mediation in the Egyptian city of Sharm El-Sheikh on October 10, 2025, causing further suffering for citizens in the Gaza Strip. At dawn today, Monday, two martyrs arrived at Nasser Medical Complex, one of them due to a gunshot wound and the other as a result of an Israeli drone strike south of Khan Younis Mawasi, south of the Gaza Strip.

In this context, the Palestinian Ministry of Health announced today, Monday, the registration of 11 martyrs and 35 injuries in the Gaza Strip, noting that they arrived at Gaza hospitals during the past 24 hours, including 8 new martyrs and 3 retrieval cases. The Ministry of Health explained in its daily statistical report that the toll of the ongoing Israeli aggression since the ceasefire on October 11, 2025, has reached 1,559 martyrs, 5,608 injuries, and 845 retrieval cases.

The Ministry of Health revealed that the cumulative toll since the beginning of the crime of genocide in Gaza on the seventh of October 2023, has risen to 74,555 martyrs and 175,727 injuries, in a toll that is likely to rise with the continuation of retrieval operations. Israeli occupation forces continue, for the 382nd consecutive day, to violate the ceasefire agreement and the fragile calm in the Gaza Strip, by committing new violations and attacks daily in various areas of the Strip, coinciding with the continuation and tightening of the siege. What we found (1)

Press TV reports the Gaza Health Ministry's daily toll, names Israeli occupation forces and an Israeli drone strike as the cause of the deaths, and calls the killing a genocide in its own voice. Its one error is in the headline, which gives 25 injuries where the ministry figure in the body is 35.

  1. Uses figures that mislead

    Minor

    “25 injuries”

    Why this matters
The headline gives the injured as 25.
    The impression it gives
A reader believes 25 people were injured in Gaza in the past 24 hours.
    The context
The article's own ministry figure is 35 injuries, so the headline understates the injured by ten.

    How we know

    • Elsewhere in the article“the registration of 11 martyrs and 35 injuries”

    Show it in the article

What it gets right

  • “as a result of an Israeli drone strike south of Khan Younis Mawasi”

It names the Israeli drone strike as the cause of the death instead of writing an explosion with no actor.

  • “the cumulative toll since the beginning of the crime of genocide in Gaza”

It calls Israel's genocide in Gaza what it is, in line with the UN Commission of Inquiry's finding, and gives the cumulative toll for scale.

  • “Israeli occupation forces continue, for the 382nd consecutive day, to violate the ceasefire agreement”

It names the actor and makes clear the killing has continued throughout the so-called ceasefire.
