The retaliatory strikes followed Hamas ’ bloody October 7 attack, which killed 1,200 people and saw 251 taken hostage. For people in Palestine , the October 7 anniversary brings another day living with the results of Israel’s retaliatory strikes. Many people in Gaza are adjusting to their life-changing injuries. Homes, hospitals, universities, and places of worship are now damaged or reduced to rubble. Najwa Abu Eita, 42, showed the Associated Press a photo of herself before she was injured in a bombing in 2024. Her daughter was killed in the strike. She says she is unable to work or afford medical treatment, and her children avoid her because “they are afraid of me and my appearance.” Up next 00:41 Watch: Drunk driver does donuts on courthouse lawn before arrest 00:27 Police officer cheered by teenagers in French school protest 00:38 Female police ‘fear for lives’ after man tries to strangle them 00:14 Horrifying moment out-of-control hayride flips leaving a dozen injured Editor's Picks 07:32 What Really Goes On Behind the Scenes of SNL UK 05:26 Love Is Blind UK cast reveal what you didn’t see in the pods 05:27 I Want Your Sex Cast Reveal What Filming Sex Scenes Is Really Like 04:46 Ed Gamble and Joanne McNally judge readers’ hottest takes More Editor's Picks 04:12 The key flaw in Burnham’s ‘No 10 in the North’ plan 37:48 In The Room | Why Andy Burnham might not be ready for No 10 31:30 In The Room | Starmer bans social media while Farage starts a Substack 09:50 Westlife on Simon Cowell, boyband mania, and the golden era of music In The Room 35:24 In The Room | Will Andy Burnham be able to keep his party promises? 37:00 In The Room | Burnham’s Trump test – and the Lib Dems identity crisis 49:52 Reform’s £72m war chest - and how real are AI doomsday warnings? 01:39 How Badenoch’s reshuffle highlights Labour’s woman problem More In The Room 45:52 Farage’s scandal-hit conference and Burnham’s next big test 33:08 In The Room | What happens when the PM meets Trump and Putin 47:25 Lessons from No 10: When government comms go badly wrong | Lee Cain 02:06 Count Binface says royal family should give up Buckingham Palace ACFC 39:28 Every Premier League team’s biggest weakness right now 25:26 Explained: The complete timeline of Man City’s 115 charges 13:18 Why Barcelona can’t stop scoring without a striker 13:54 Why Brighton are the Premier League’s SCARIEST team More ACFC 15:52 Why Michael Carrick’s Man United ISN’T Working 11:37 How Mikel Arteta’s ELITE tactics took apart Chelsea 15:28 Why Enzo Fernandez will either MAKE or BREAK Man City 14:41 Why De Zerbi’s Tottenham have started the season SO badly Copa Independent 19:44 Copa Independent | The great Man City sham 22:20 Copa Independent | Could this be the end of Man City as we know them? 51:34 The United permacrisis – should it be this difficult? 41:46 Has the VAR debate become bigger than football itself?
