Israeli Strikes Kill More Palestinians in Gaza as Post-Ceasefire Deal Death Toll Approaches 1,500

At least two Palestinians were killed by Israeli strikes in Gaza on Monday as the death toll from IDF attacks since the so-called ceasefire deal was signed one year ago is approaching 1,500 Palestinians due to constant Israeli violations. According to the Anadolu Agency , the two people were killed by an Israeli strike near Rafah, southern Gaza, and three others were critically wounded in the attack. Israeli shelling was also reported near Khan Younis, and Israeli naval fire was reported in areas near Gaza City. The night before, at least three Palestinians were killed when an Israeli strike hit a tent near Khan Younis that was being used as a mobile phone charging point. At least one missile hit the tent, and several other Palestinians were wounded. REUTERS/Ramadan Abed Gaza’s Health Ministry said in its daily update on Monday, released about midday Gaza time, that over the past 24 hours, the IDF killed at least three Palestinians, and two died of wounds sustained by previous Israeli attacks. Since the so-called ceasefire deal was supposed to go into effect in October 2025, Israeli forces have killed at least 1,493 Palestinians and wounded 5,299. Gaza’s Government Media Office said on Sunday that it has recorded 5,474 ceasefire violations “committed by the Israeli occupation army during the agreement period, in flagrant violation of international law and blatant disregard for the efforts of mediators.” Besides the constant attacks, the IDF has also violated the deal by taking more territory beyond the so-called yellow line. On Sunday morning, residents of Gaza City’s Shujaiyya neighborhood said that they were forced to flee under heavy Israeli gunfire as IDF troops moved yellow blocks toward their tents. The US continues to back Israel’s military operations in Gaza despite President Trump and the so-called Board of Peace recently announcing that Hamas had agreed to a US-proposed disarmament deal. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has rejected the potential agreement, and other senior Israeli ministers continue to make clear that their ultimate goal for Gaza is the ethnic cleansing of the Palestinian population.
