A warning to 'be flood ready' has been issued to people across Wales. The country is anticipating intense weather across the autumn and winter period, as one in seven homes and businesses are at risk of flooding - according to Natural Resources Wales (NRW). The Met Office predicts "wetter, windier, and milder conditions" after a summer of drought and wildfires. NRW said people should be prepared in the coming months to reduce the impact flooding can have on people and properties. Jeremy Parr, Head of Flood and Incident Risk Management said "Just because you've never experienced flooding before doesn't mean you're not at risk." After a summer of dry extreme heat the country is set to experience more intense conditions. We've seen first-hand the disruption it can cause for businesses, residents and visitors. "We know not every flood can be prevented, but we can be much better prepared for them." NRW is encouraging people to sign up for flood warnings online, check if their postcode is at risk, and know what to do when flooding is forecast.
