Sunshine levels were above average, 215.8 hours of sunshine recorded during the month compared to the 30-year average of 205.7 hours, and the average temperature reached 18.6C (65F) compared to the 30-year average of 16.6C (62F). The island also experienced half the amount of rainfall it usually does for September with a total of 29.6mm of rain - well below the long-term average of 59.7mm.
