Israel election poll: Eisenkot bloc continues slump as Netanyahu's coalition gains ground
A new Israeli election poll published by public broadcaster Kan Sunday shows former IDF chief Gadi Eisenkot's bloc shrinking by two seats, while Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's bloc rises two seats, bolstered in part by far-right Ofer Winter's Amcha Yisrael crossing the electoral threshold, Eisenkot's bloc stands at 50 Knesset seats, down from 52 last week, while the governing coalition rose from 51 to 53. 61 members are necessary for a majority in the Knesset. The Arab parties, meanwhile, hold steady at 13 seats. Likud also loses one seat, falling to 20. Bennett's Together holds steady at 12 seats. Yisrael Beiteinu drops one seat to eight, while Otzma Yehudit gains one to reach nine. The Democrats, the Joint List and United Torah Judaism remain unchanged at eight seats each. Shas loses one seat, falling to seven, while Mansour Abbas' United Arab List holds steady at five. Religious Zionism also stands at five, down one seat from last week. The Reservists, led by Yoaz Hendel and Yaron Zelekha, remains at four seats. In a question about suitability for prime minister, Eisenkot leads Netanyahu by 43 percent to 38 percent. The poll also found that 30 percent of respondents have yet to decide whom they will vote for. The poll was conducted by Kantar, headed by Dudu Hasid, among 552 respondents. The margin of error is 4.2 percentage points.
