Iran warns US against resuming attacks

Iranian forces have warned that any US move to resume military operations against Iran would trigger continued attacks on American bases and interests. The Iranian Armed Forces said in a statement that Tehran had received information that the United States was preparing to resume combat operations. “Any US attack will be entailed by continuous strikes on US bases and interests,” it warned. Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Secretary Mohsen Rezaei also said earlier that there could be no return to negotiations unless Tehran’s seven conditions were implemented. Since the US-Israeli war with Iran began on February 28, Iranian threats to commercial vessels have largely disrupted navigation through the Strait of Hormuz, a major global energy route. The United States has also imposed new sanctions on Iran and maintained pressure on Iranian ports.
