Southern road closes to fell storm-damaged trees Image source, Google Image caption, Part of the Ramsey to Castletown Road will close from the Silverdale Road junction By Alex Blake Isle of Man Published 1 hour ago A road in the south of the Isle of Man is closing so trees damaged in recent storms can be felled. The A3 Ramsey to Castletown Road will be shut from 09:30 GMT until 16:00 from the junction with the Silverdale Road in Malew.

The Department of Infrastructure (DOI) said the work was being carried out by a contractor for a private landowner. It added that the roadside trees were "destabilised in the recent stormy weather". The DOI has warned work to remove the felled trees from the carriageway may continue into Friday. Temporary traffic lights will therefore be in place until 16:00 on 6 November while the road is cleared.
