12 killed, including 2 children, in Israeli airstrikes in southern Lebanon

At least 12 fatalities, including two children, and several injuries were reported in Israeli airstrikes in southern Lebanon overnight, the Lebanese Health Ministry said Monday. A ministry statement said the death toll from the airstrike targeting a house in Kfar Roummane had risen to 11, including two children and four women, while eight others were injured, including three children and a paramedic with the Islamic Health Organization. The ministry added that another Israeli airstrike targeting a car in the same town killed a paramedic with the Islamic Risala Scout Association and injured two other people. Israeli warplanes also carried out a series of strikes on Nabatieh al-Fawqa and Arabsalim, where a house was destroyed. The National News Agency said the Israeli army issued an evacuation warning for a building in the town of Deir al-Zahrani some 22 minutes before Israeli warplanes destroyed it. Lebanon and Israel signed a US-brokered framework agreement on June 26 following negotiations in Washington. The deal calls for a gradual Israeli withdrawal from occupied Lebanese territory in exchange for the deployment of the Lebanese army and the disarmament of armed groups. Israel has continued its attacks on Lebanon despite the agreement. According to Lebanese Health Ministry figures released in late August, Israeli attacks since March 2 have killed more than 4,000 people and injured over 12,000.
