9 Palestinians injured in Israeli shelling, gunfire across Gaza Strip despite truce

Nine Palestinians, including two women and a child, were injured on Monday in Israeli artillery shelling and gunfire across the central and southern Gaza Strip, medical sources and witnesses said. The injuries came amid continued Israeli violations of the ceasefire agreement in force since Oct. 10, 2025. In central Gaza, a medical source at Suhadaa Al-Aqsa Hospital told Anadolu that a woman was admitted with serious injuries and a child with moderate injuries. The two were injured when Israeli forces opened fire toward tents sheltering displaced Palestinians between the Bureij and Maghazi refugee camps. Two others were injured when an artillery shell struck a home belonging to the Abu al-Rous family in the Bureij refugee camp. A fire broke out in the home after the artillery shelling, witnesses told Anadolu. Israeli military vehicles also opened heavy fire toward displacement tents on Salah al-Din Street north of Bureij camp, alongside artillery shelling around the area. In southern Gaza, a medical source said five Palestinians sustained varying injuries in Israeli gunfire and artillery shelling targeting central and southern Khan Younis. Three Palestinians, including a woman, were shot when Israeli forces opened fire toward the Hamad City residential area north of Khan Younis. Two others were injured by shrapnel from an artillery shell in the Al-Amal neighborhood in central Khan Younis. In northern Gaza, Israeli warships opened heavy machine-gun fire and fired shells along the Gaza City coast, which continued for around two hours, witnesses said. Meanwhile, Israeli quadcopter drones dropped several bombs near an Israeli army deployment area east of the Shujaiya neighborhood in eastern Gaza City, according to witnesses. Israeli artillery also fired sporadic shells east of Jabalia town in the northern Gaza Strip. Since October 2023, Israel has killed more than 73,000 Palestinians and injured over 174,000 others in its genocide in Gaza, while destroying around 90% of the enclave’s infrastructure. Violations of the 2025 ceasefire have killed at least 1,393 Palestinians and injured 4,822 others as of Sunday, according to the latest figures from Gaza’s Health Ministry.
