Israeli Forces Kill Two Children in Gaza as IDF Continues Relentless Attacks

No framing issues found.

Two children were among five Palestinians killed by Israeli forces in Gaza on Sunday as the IDF continues its relentless attacks across the besieged Palestinian territory. A seven-year-old girl, identified as Misk Hazem al-Dalu, was killed when Israeli troops opened fire on tents in the al-Maghazi refugee camp. Later in the day, an unidentified child was killed by Israeli gunfire in Beit Lahia, northern Gaza, according to the Palestinian news agency WAFA .

Gaza’s Health Ministry said in its daily update , released about midday Gaza time, that over the past 24 hours, at least six Palestinians were killed by Israeli attacks and 25 were injured. The Health Ministry also said that since the so-called ceasefire deal was signed nearly one year ago in October 2025, the IDF has killed at least 1,517 Palestinians and wounded 5,400 as it has constantly violated the agreement.

Gaza’s Government Media Office has said that it recorded more than 5,000 Israeli ceasefire violations. Sunday’s attacks came several days after Israel said that it had halted shipments of commercial goods into Gaza, cutting off a vital supply of food and other basic goods, and there’s been no confirmation yet that the shipments have resumed. Israel claimed the decision was made on behalf of Gaza merchants who dispute a dispute with Hamas, but Palestinians involved in importing goods into Gaza denied that claim, saying it was a unilateral Israeli decision.

About this analysis

Antiwar.com reports that Israeli forces killed five Palestinians in Gaza on Sunday, two of them children. It names the seven-year-old girl and says who fired. It attributes each casualty figure to WAFA or Gaza's Health Ministry and does not let Israel's account of the halted goods shipments stand unanswered. Nothing in it misleads the reader.

What it gets right

  • “A seven-year-old girl, identified as Misk Hazem al-Dalu, was killed when Israeli troops opened fire on tents in the al-Maghazi refugee camp”

The article gives the child's name and age, says she was killed, and names Israeli troops as the ones who opened fire on tents. The reader knows who died, where and at whose hands.

  • “Two children were among five Palestinians killed by Israeli forces in Gaza on Sunday”

The opening sentence uses the word killed and names the actor. It does not hide the deaths behind a passive toll.

  • “but Palestinians involved in importing goods into Gaza denied that claim, saying it was a unilateral Israeli decision”

The article attributes Israel's reason for halting commercial goods to Israel and sets the Palestinian importers' denial against it. The Israeli claim does not get the last word.
