Mr Burnham came under fire after saying he would be “really concerned” if the club’s Abu Dhabi owners were forced to sell and describing them as a “huge partner in the building of modern Manchester”. The Lib Dems have demanded the PM disclose every meeting with City Football Group, Abu Dhabi United Group or UAE representatives relating to the club or investment in Manchester. They also want him to declare hospitality received from the club’s owners during his time as mayor. Ms Badenoch piled on today, accusing Mr Burnham of still behaving like the mayor of Manchester rather than Prime Minister.
