Five men in their early 20s were arrested on suspicion of terrorism near the base in the early hours of September 27 after cops were alerted to three “suspicious vehicles”. Fairford was home to a number of Trump’s B-1 bombers at the time which have been involved in bombing missions over Iran . Experts say this could have been why the base was targeted. Responding to the security breach fears, Trump pulled all of his American bombers from the base over fears of an Iranian attack.
