About this campaign

On 8 July 2026, Rupert Lowe MP told The Joe Rogan Experience, an audience of millions, that 250,000 British girls were raped by Muslim men, that 'the Hadiths' describe women as meat, and that handguns were banned because of 'one murder' at Dunblane.

None of it survives contact with the record. The 250,000 figure was never counted: it is a 2018 Lords extrapolation from one town, rejected by Full Fact and The Journal, and the 2022 national inquiry concluded the true scale is 'simply not possible to know'. No hadith calls women meat. Dunblane was sixteen children and their teacher, Gwen Mayor, murdered on 13 March 1996.

The consequences are not abstract. Three days after his report was published, five Muslim men were attacked in Edinburgh by a man reportedly shouting that he was protecting the country from Muslims raping children. On 7 July a worshipper was assaulted outside a Leyton mosque. Tell MAMA logged a record 6,313 anti-Muslim hate cases in 2024, up 165 percent in two years.
