Apple TV costs more
Apple raised the price of Apple TV in the U.S., increasing the monthly subscription from $12.99 to $14.99 and the annual plan from $99 to $119.

Variety said the new rates for Apple TV begin for new and existing subscribers beginning Friday, Aug. 28, and that existing subscribers will be notified approximately one month prior to being charged the new price, according to Apple.
The price hike also increased the individual tier of Apple One, with the discounted bundle rising from $19.95 to $21.95 per month.

Variety added that it is the fourth price increase for Apple TV (formerly called Apple TV+) in four years, with the monthly fee now tripled from the original 2019 launch price of $4.99/month.
What Apple is bundling
Apple TV is included in Apple One, and CNBC said the individual price for Apple One increased to $21.95 from $19.95 as Apple raised Apple TV to $14.99 per month or $119 per year.
Variety described Apple One as a discounted bundle with Apple TV, Apple Music, iCloud+, Apple Arcade, Apple News+ and Apple Fitness+, and said the individual tier is increasing from $19.95 to $21.95 per month.
NBC New York said Apple TV currently has more than 300 original TV shows and movies in its catalog, up from a handful when Apple TV+ began.
Variety said Apple TV offers live sports including Formula 1 races, Major League Baseball and Major League Soccer.
Macworld noted that Apple is raising prices on its streaming service once again, from $12.99 to $14.99 a month, and said the last Apple TV price increase was a year ago when it raised prices from $9.99 to $12.99.
Industrywide price pressure
The Apple TV increase comes as other streamers have also raised prices, and NBC New York said Peacock raised subscription costs earlier this month and Netflix announced similar changes in March.

Variety said Apple’s price hikes come as all other major premium video-entertainment streamers have also raised their prices in the last two years, including Netflix, HBO Max, Disney+, Hulu, Paramount+ and YouTube Premium.

CNBC said the adjustments come after Apple raised prices for Apple Music by $1 per month in July, citing licensing costs, and said Apple reported $30.7 billion in services revenue, or 12% growth, in its third quarter.
