Tour Ends, Visibility Paused
Ariana Grande will take a break from public life after concluding her Eternal Sunshine Tour, with her representative telling PEOPLE that she will be “taking a step back from visibility after she completes the Eternal Sunshine Tour.”

The tour is set to wrap in London on Sept. 1, and Grande’s rep said she “looks forward to finishing the tour and ending it on a high note, both healthily and happily,” before stepping away from public-facing work and appearances.
E! News reported that Grande’s pause is tied to “endless, ongoing public scrutiny” over her health and image, quoting her rep’s statement that the scrutiny has “led to endless, ongoing public scrutiny.”
In the same coverage, E! News said Grande’s Eternal Sunshine Tour is a “41-stop tour” that began in June in Oakland, Calif., and will end on Sept. 1 in London.
E! News also said Grande will no longer appear in the West End revival of Stephen Sondheim’s Sunday in the Park with George, where she would have reunited with her Wicked co-star Jonathan Bailey.
Health Scrutiny, Petal
Billboard said Grande’s time off includes pulling out of the West End revival of Stephen Sondheim’s Sunday in the Park With George, which was expected to open next summer in London’s West End.
Billboard also quoted the same rep statement: “Ariana will be taking a step back from visibility after she completes the Eternal Sunshine Tour,” and said the decision comes just after Grande released her new studio album Petal.
Rolling Stone described the “step back” as following concerns about Grande’s physical well-being, and it quoted a source close to the singer saying, “She performs a very physical show, and there is a lot of athleticism involved.”
The Independent reported that the break follows the release of Grande’s eighth studio album Petal and said her representative told People she would be “taking a step back from visibility” after the tour in London on September 1.
In the same Independent account, British model Charlotte Howard wrote that “WHAT YOU SEE HERE IS NOT NORMAL,” after speaking out following the release of Grande’s music video for “Petal” on July 31.
Next Moves and Fallout
As Grande steps away from the West End revival of Sunday in the Park with George, The Hollywood Reporter said the production will open at London’s Barbican Centre next summer and that Empire Street Productions confirmed Grande “has decided to step back from Sunday in the Park with George.”

The Hollywood Reporter added that the production will open at the Barbican in summer 2027 as planned, and that “casting will be announced in due course,” after Grande’s departure.
People said Grande’s break comes as scrutiny surrounding her health and body intensifies after the music video for “Petal” was released, and it quoted her rep describing the tour as “a beautiful experience for her.”
People also reported that Grande will next be seen on the big screen in Focker-in-Law, set to hit theaters on Nov. 25, and it noted the comedy stars Ben Stiller and Robert De Niro.
Just Jared said Grande’s tour runs at the O2 Arena in London from August 15 to September 1, and it reiterated her rep’s statement that she will take a “much-deserved break from public-facing work and appearances.”
