Kai Havertz equalised for Arsenal by beating Emi Martinez at the near post, and Martin Odegaard then scored to make it 2-1 after the break.
The match was played on Sunday afternoon, with Arsenal and Chelsea going toe-to-toe in a “wonderful early-season spectacle” at North London.

Chelsea’s Xabi Alonso said the defeat “has to hurt,” describing “a very intense game with different moments” after Arsenal’s comeback at the Emirates.

The New York Times described the key sequence as Odegaard capitalising on Havertz’s dummy to slam in Arsenal’s second, while David Raya produced a fingertip save to deny Estevao in the closing minutes.
In Arsenal’s dressing-room reaction, Martin Odegaard told Sky Sports that it was a “big game, massive game” and said, “somehow we got there in the end.”

Arsenal’s win kept them perfect after three games and moved them level at the top of the standings with Manchester City, according to AP’s report.

The New York Times said Arsenal now turn their attentions to the Champions League, traveling to Napoli on Wednesday before a trip to Sunderland three days later.
Jamie Carragher told Sky Sports that the “worrying thing for everybody else already is that William Saliba… has not played a minute of football so far this season,” and he added, “it doesn’t look like anyone can score against them.”
Sky Sports also noted that Arsenal’s result came after Riccardo Calafiori’s offside-flagged goal and that Estevao’s late curler was denied by David Raya in the 89th minute.
