Hayes backs FLOP airdrop
Arthur Hayes said he was "coming out of retirement" to lead Flop Labs, a project that expects its first public milestone to be a FLOP token airdrop rather than a live blockchain.
“the first public milestone for Flop Labs is expected to be a FLOP token airdrop, not a live blockchain”
Flop Labs targets a "massive" airdrop in the fourth quarter of 2026, while Flop Network’s genesis block is targeted for the first quarter of 2027.

The project says FLOP is meant to be used by AI agents to pay for computing, inference and memory services, with Flop Labs describing FLOP as "food for your AI agent."
In the same announcement, Hayes said the launch would have "no presale" and "no VCs," describing it as a "100% fair launch."
CEO role and timing
TradingView reported that Hayes updated his X profile to identify himself as Flop Labs’ CEO, and it quoted his Tuesday X post: "I’m coming out of retirement to lead @flop_labs."
Cointelegraph also reported Hayes said Flop plans a "massive airdrop" in the fourth quarter of 2026, before the network’s genesis block launches in early 2027.

The Cointelegraph account said Flop brands itself as a "proof-of-useful-inference protocol founded by Arthur Hayes," where AI agents spend the protocol’s native Flop (FLOP) token for inference and decentralized memory services.
In parallel, Coindoo said Flop Network’s genesis block is targeted for the first quarter of 2027, leaving open what recipients can do with FLOP before the network where it is meant to be used exists.
Fair launch, unanswered details
Coindoo said Flop Labs has not yet published a token allocation schedule, airdrop rules, a claim process or technical documentation explaining how FLOP will work before genesis.

Crypto News | Other said Flop Labs has not published the technical mechanism for verifying those results, and it listed open questions about how validators would check nondeterministic AI outputs and penalize malicious providers.
DiarioBitcoin said the project promises a "100% fair launch" with no pre-sale or venture capital allocation, but it also said there is no white paper, no designated chain, and no audit.
Until Flop Labs publishes details like an official contract address and claim process, Coindoo warned that users should treat any FLOP sale, contract address, eligibility checker or “early claim” link as unverified.
