CME Futures Lift BCH

Bitcoin Cash jumped 28% to nearly $349 over 24 hours after CME Group said on Monday it will list Bitcoin Cash and Uniswap futures from Oct. 19.

Bitcoin itself traded around $85,800, down under 1% over 24 hours after matching Monday's intraday high near $87,300 and meeting the same selling into that level.

ZEC rose 9% to just above $1,646 and XRP rose 3% to nearly $1.59 over the same window, while TRX fell 2%.

Alex Kuptsikevich, senior analyst at FxPro, said in an email to CoinDesk that “Optimism in the altcoin market and in equities suggests that we are witnessing a temporary shift of speculative capital from the leading cryptocurrency into altcoins.”

Kuptsikevich added that “Many investors had parked their cryptocurrency-allocated capital in the most liquid asset class and are now seeking more profitable opportunities.”

Contract Terms and Access

CME Group said it will launch Bitcoin Cash (BCH) and Uniswap (UNI) futures on October 19, pending regulatory review, and Bitcoin Cash climbed from $270 to $328 on Binance within 90 minutes of the 8:30 a.m. ET release.

CME set standard and Micro contract sizes for Bitcoin Cash at 250 BCH and 25 BCH, and it set Uniswap futures at 10,000 UNI and 1,000 UNI.

Giovanni Vicioso, Global Head of Cryptocurrency Products at CME Group, said the contracts are for “broader, regulated tools to navigate evolving digital asset related price risk,” and he added that the contracts give clients exposure to “key crypto networks within our 24/7, regulated marketplace.”

The exchange also said its crypto futures and options averaged 279,800 contracts per day in the first half of 2026, worth $8.3 billion in daily notional value, and it reported open interest running around $15.4 billion.

TradingView said Bitcoin Cash traded over $351, up over 30% over the past 24 hours, while Bitcoin slipped below $86,000 and traded flat over the past 24 hours.

Next Tests for BCH

CryptoQuant called Bitcoin's bull market confirmed at $86K spot, while it flagged a $90,300 upper profit-taking band as the next real test. DailyCoin said traders set the next major upside target zone at $500–$530 after Bitcoin Cash jumped 33% in 24 hours to around $357. DailyCoin also said BCH remains roughly 90% below its December 2017 all-time high of $3,785.82, even after the rally pushed it to a multi-month high for the first time since May 2026.

Pluang said Finbold's AI Agent predicted a potential price correction, forecasting a 3.03% drop by early next month, and it also cited mixed longer-term models suggesting a rise to $368.50 and others a fall to $320.50 by October 1, 2026. Traders Union’s Viktoras Karapetjanc said, “With major institutions entering the market, I see BCH in a good position for further gains within the current range of $266.9 to $308.98.”
