Acquisition Completed
CoinMarketCap announced that it has acquired CoinGlass, and the transaction has been completed, to bring crypto derivatives data into its price-tracking offering. CoinGlass continues to operate as an independent business under the CoinGlass brand, and its website, app, free tools, API and pricing are unchanged. CoinMarketCap said the acquisition gives the "115 million people who use CoinMarketCap each month" a view of how leveraged traders are positioned, where liquidations cluster and how funding rates are moving.
CoinMarketCap also said CoinGlass covers 28 exchanges and 2500+ instruments, and the company said CoinGlass serves 5M+ monthly users and 10k API customers. CoinMarketCap Chief Executive Officer Rush said, "Derivatives are where most of the market's risk is taken, and Coinglass is where most people go to see it."

Brand and Tools Unchanged
CoinGlass said it will continue to operate as an independent business under the CoinGlass brand, and it said its website, app, free tools, API and pricing are unchanged. CoinGlass will retain its brand and team, while its website, app, free tools, API and pricing will be unchanged following the acquisition. CoinMarketCap said the integration will place derivatives positioning data alongside cryptocurrency prices, including information on where liquidations cluster and how funding rates are moving.
CoinMarketCap said CoinGlass built "the most trusted view of positioning in crypto" by doing one thing very well, and the company said its job is to make that view available to many more people. CoinMarketCap Chief Product Officer David Salamon said, "Open interest, funding and liquidations are where the market's risk is actually taken, and Coinglass made that visible to everyone."

Derivatives Data Expansion
CoinMarketCap said derivatives account for the majority of crypto trading volume, and it framed the acquisition as a way to expand how its users track leveraged trading. CoinMarketCap said CoinGlass provides liquidation heatmap, open-interest dashboards and funding-rate tables, and it said those charts are among the most widely shared in crypto. TokenPost said the integration will bring information on open interest, funding rates, liquidation activity and options to CoinMarketCap users, expanding its coverage of leverage-driven markets.
