Donald Trump Jr. Marries Bettina Anderson in Bahamas After Florida Legal Marriage

Donald Trump Jr., 48, married Bettina Anderson, 39, in the Bahamas on Saturday, after the couple legally married in Florida on Thursday, May 21 before a planned celebration over Memorial Day weekend.

The Daily Beast said Trump, 79, was absent from his namesake son’s wedding and instead stayed in D.C., after initially planning to be away on a golfing excursion.

CNN said the island celebration took place at Little Pipe Cay, a “hyper-exclusive 38-acre private island” in the Bahamas, and described the bride’s Instagram posts as keeping “the details… kept remarkably under wraps even days later.”

CNN also reported that Little Pipe Cay is accessible by “a short 30-minute seaplane or helicopter ride” from Nassau, and that the private estate “only hosts 22 people.”

President Donald Trump cited “circumstances pertaining to Government” for why he did not attend the destination nuptials, a reason repeated in multiple accounts of the wedding weekend.

The Daily Beast quoted Trump’s Truth Social explanation that “circumstances pertaining to Government, and my love for the United States of America, do not allow me to do so,” and said Trump planned to remain in Washington, D.C. at the White House.

The Independent reported that Trump told reporters “He’d like me to go,” but said “this is not good timing for me,” adding that he had “a thing called Iran and other things.”

CNN said Trump remained at the White House over the weekend, while the wedding details were instead traced through Instagram stories and family posts.

While Donald Trump skipped the ceremony, CNN said the groom’s siblings Eric Trump and Ivanka Trump, along with half-sister Tiffany Trump, were in attendance, and it also listed Trump Jr.’s five children from his first marriage to Vanessa Trump: Kai, Donald III, Tristan, Spencer, and Chloe.

CNN described the bride’s social-media posts showing wedding bands with the caption “Forever yours” and “Forever mine,” and said she shared a white silk embroidered “Mrs. Trump” with a Jane Austen quote: “My heart is and always will be yours.”

The Independent said Ivanka Trump posted nearly a dozen photos from the celebration on Instagram but that “the bride and groom were nowhere to be seen,” while Ivanka captioned one image “The best paddleboard partner.”

HELLO! Magazine reported that a marriage certificate obtained by HELLO! showed the couple officially became husband and wife during a private ceremony at the West Palm Beach home of Bettina’s sister, Kristina McPherson, before continuing celebrations in the Bahamas.
