Fox ends Bartiromo run
Fox News Media announced Thursday that it had parted ways with longtime business journalist Maria Bartiromo, effective immediately, after more than a decade at the company.

The network said, “We thank Maria for her work over the last 12 ½ years and wish her all the best on her next chapter,” and it did not specify reasons for the separation.
Bartiromo’s final appearance on “Mornings with Maria” aired Thursday morning on Fox Business Network, and the show is set to transition to “Mornings with FOX Business” beginning Friday with rotating anchors.
Fox also said “Sunday Morning Futures” would be hosted by Jason Chaffetz this Sunday, while “Maria Bartiromo’s Wall Street” would shift to “FBN’s Wall Street” effective this week.
The announcement came hours after the final episode of the show that bears her name aired, and Bartiromo did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
Speculation swirls in Washington
Bartiromo’s abrupt exit left a question unanswered about why she left, with Fox confirming the split but not giving a reason for her departure.
Republican Rep. Nicole Malliotakis publicly floated the idea of Bartiromo becoming the next White House press secretary, writing on X, “Maybe it’s time for a Brooklyn girl to be the next White House Press Secretary?”

Aidan McLaughlin reported, citing a source, that Bartiromo was “not leaving for a job in the Trump admin.”
Vice President JD Vance, asked about her departure, said, “I love Maria. I think she’s an amazing person, an amazing talent,” and he added, “I don’t get involved in the personal drama of media stations.”
Programming changes and legal shadow
Fox’s immediate schedule changes will replace Bartiromo’s branded shows, with “Mornings with Maria” becoming “Mornings with FOX Business” and “Maria Bartiromo’s Wall Street” becoming “FBN’s Wall Street.”

The network also said “Sunday Morning Futures” would be hosted by Jason Chaffetz this Sunday, while it planned to announce a new permanent host at a later date.
Bartiromo’s departure arrives amid ongoing legal scrutiny tied to her on-air role, including a defamation case in which Fox settled with Dominion Voting Systems for $787.5 million in 2023.
In 2025, a lawsuit by Smartmatic alleged that Bartiromo spread false rumors about claims of election fraud, a notion she had “vehemently rejected,” according to the AP.
NPR also pointed to the broader fallout from Fox’s promotion of Trump’s claims about the 2020 race, noting that Bartiromo’s shows featured prominently in a defamation case against Fox brought by Dominion Voting Systems.
