Tenev’s X Hijacked
Robinhood CEO Vlad Tenev’s X account was hacked on Thursday and used to promote a fake memecoin called Vladhood (VLAD), with the post falsely framing the token as the “official mascot” of Robinhood Chain and claiming it would be listed on the Robinhood app.

The hijacked message included a blockchain wallet address and a token contract address, and it was removed after Robinhood confirmed the breach through its Robinhood Comms X handle.
Onchain data provider Onchain Lens reported the compromise, and Robinhood Chain’s blockchain explorer later labeled the token’s contract address as a scam.
Finanzen.net reported that the post attracted more than 175,000 views in less than 20 minutes before users identified it as a scam and warned others not to interact with the token.
Funds, Wallets, and Access
Multiple outlets tied the scam to onchain activity, with TradingView reporting that hackers exploited approximately 650 Ether (ETH), worth between $1.2 million and $1.3 million.
Finanzen.net said an X user and online sleuth who goes by Jeff claimed to have identified a wallet address linked to the hacker group, and that the wallet spent $126.81 to purchase 47.2 million VLAD tokens.
That same report estimated the position was sitting on an unrealized profit of roughly $159,000, while Robinhood said it was working with X to restore access and that the post had been removed.
Cryptonews.net also reported that Vladhood briefly reached a $10 million market cap before Robinhood confirmed the breach and the promotional message disappeared.
Robinhood Chain Stakes
The incident unfolded as Robinhood Chain’s early activity surged, with bloomingbit reporting that Robinhood Chain had attracted more than $700 million in assets since launch and exceeded 300,000 daily active addresses.

bloomingbit also said daily transactions were running at about 10 million, while Cryptonews.net described the chain as generating buzz among traders and noted that the network launched earlier this month.
In response to the hack, Robinhood said through its official communications account that the post promoting the fake memecoin had been removed and that it was working with X to restore access to Tenev’s account.
The scam’s broader context was highlighted by Cryptonews.net’s report that onchain data showed insiders cashed over $1 million in profits, even as the token continued trading after the promotional message disappeared.
