Second Drone Strike on Jazan
Yemen’s Houthis said they targeted Saudi Aramco’s Jazan refinery for a second time in less than a week, firing two drones at the facility and hitting it, according to Houthi-controlled Saba news agency citing an unidentified military source.

The Business Times reported that the attack caused negligible damage to a tank at the refinery, and said the strike was carried out in response to Saudi Arabia’s “violation” of Yemen’s airspace and sovereignty in Sa’dah and Hajjah.
ISNA News Agency also said a Yemeni military source told Saba that the armed forces targeted the Aramco refinery in Jazan with two drones on Thursday evening, again framing the strike as a response to Saudi Arabia’s violation of Yemeni airspace and sovereignty in Saada and Hajjah provinces.
WION described the same claim as a Houthi attack on Thursday, quoting Saba that “A military source confirmed that the Yemeni Armed Forces targeted an Aramco refinery in the Jizan region using two drones, achieving a precise hit by the grace of God,” and said the Houthis warned they would respond to further Saudi military actions against Yemen.
Competing Claims and Diplomatic Warnings
While Saudi authorities did not immediately comment on the claim in the reporting, WION said the Houthis described the strike as successful and that the attack was carried out in response to Saudi “violation of Yemeni airspace and sovereignty” in Sa’dah and Hajjah governorates.
WION further quoted UK Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations Kate Foster telling the UN Security Council that “Iran must cease its long-standing support for the Houthis, which threatens Yemen’s stability,” and said she accused the Houthis of “reckless … actions” in attacks on Saudi Arabia and shipping in the Red Sea.
The Business Times added that the attack in southwest Saudi Arabia was carried out in response to the kingdom’s “violation” of Yemen’s airspace and sovereignty in Sa’dah and Hajjah, and said the Houthis said they remain committed to responding to any violations of Yemen’s sovereignty.
In parallel, Anadolu Ajansı reported that there was “no immediate comment from Saudi authorities,” and said a military source quoted by Saba claimed the strike had hit its target with “two drones.”

The reporting linked the drone attack to a broader pattern of Houthi pressure on Saudi energy and maritime interests, with WION saying the Houthis have attacked Saudi energy facilities and tankers over the period since taking over Sanaa in 2014.
