Spence to Inter
Inter Milan signed England international winger Djed Spence from Tottenham Hotspur on a contract running until June 30, 2031, the Serie A club said on Saturday.

CNA said British media reported that Italian champions Inter paid around £30 million ($40.59 million) for the 26-year-old, while the club said in a statement that "Spence has signed a contract with the Club until 30 June 2031,".
L'Équipe put the fee at an estimated 35 million euros bonus included by The Athletic, and said Spence was titular during England’s third-place playoff win over France (6-4) about a month earlier.
Sky Sports said the transfer was completed as Tottenham included a 10 per cent sell-on clause, and noted Spence was given permission to travel to Italy on Friday for a medical as negotiations continued.
CNA added that Spence departs North London after four years, making 85 appearances and winning the Europa League, after limited first-team opportunities led to loan spells at Stade Rennais, Leeds United and Genoa.
Farewell and framing
As the move was confirmed, Sky Sports reported that Spence took to X to pen a farewell to Tottenham, writing: "A special chapter comes to an end."
Football London described Spence sending an emotional farewell message to Tottenham Hotspur fans, saying his video included the caption 'Memories of a lifetime' and ended with a 'thank you' across the screen.
Sky Sports’ transfer coverage also framed the decision around competition at Spurs, naming Pedro Porro as the first-choice right-back and listing Destiny Udogie, Andy Robertson, Souza and Ben Davies as options at left-back.
In the same period, L'Équipe said the club announced the signing at 18 h 30 in a publication on its account X, and that Spence officially joined Inter this Saturday.
CNA said Spence will link up with defender John Stones, who joined the Italian club on a two-year contract after leaving Manchester City.

The deal’s structure varied by outlet, with CNA citing around £30 million ($40.59 million) and Sky Sports saying a deal for a total package of £30m was reached, while L'Équipe estimated 35 million euros bonus included by The Athletic.

The Guardian’s reporting on European scrutiny did not appear in these sources, but the New York Times said the Inter move was for an upfront fee in the region of €30m plus add-ons and that Spence signed a five-year deal until 2031.
CNA said Spence’s contract runs until June 30, 2031, and Sky Sports added that Inter are looking for a right wing-back and turned their attention to Spence after struggling to strike a deal for Al Ittihad's Moussa Diaby.
The New York Times said Inter targeted a new full-back after Denzel Dumfries joined Real Madrid, and it described Spence as a versatile option able to play on the left and right side of defence.
It also placed the transfer within a wider reshaping of both squads, noting that Tottenham’s defence renovation followed arrivals including centre-backs Marco Senesi and Jan Paul van Hecke and left-back Andy Robertson, while Inter brought in centre-backs Manuel Akanji and John Stones from Manchester City.
