Key Takeaways

- Iran will respond strongly to any future attack.
- Ceasefire period used to strengthen defensive capabilities and readiness.
Ceasefire, threats, and strikes
Iran’s Army spokesperson Brigadier General Mohammad Akraminia, in a televised interview, said the “enemy” miscalculated and that the United States and the Zionist regime “never managed to reach their objectives” during the “12-day war” and the “40-day war.”
“Iran’s Armed Forces have issued a stark warning to adversaries, declaring that any miscalculation will be met with a “decisive and crushing” response, as the Islamic Republic moves to capitalize on the current ceasefire to accelerate its military modernization”
Akraminia also described an episode over Tehran in which pilots tried to strike an enemy drone with missiles in “two attempts” before deciding to down it by physical impact, adding that the aircraft “landed safely and the pilots were able to participate in other missions the following day.”

In a separate account, Tabnak said the Strait of Hormuz became the scene of an exchange of fire between the United States and Iran and quoted a U.S. claim that “CENTCOM will have a lot to do tonight” because Trump said the U.S. would “strike Iran with a heavy blow.”
Tabnak further stated that U.S. Central Command “completed another round of attacks against several targets in Iran” on June 10 and that, “In self-defense, we conducted further attacks on several positions in Iran,” targeting “Iran's military surveillance capabilities, communications networks, and air defense positions across Iran.”
Warnings and regional posture
Iran’s Commander-in-Chief of the Iranian Army, Lieutenant General Amir Hatami, warned that “any mistake by the enemy will be met with a pent-up fury” and said Iran’s armed forces will continue strengthening defensive capabilities.
Hatami told a ceremony on Tuesday, 01 Muharram 1448 AH corresponding to June 16, 2026, that the enemy sought to “hand Iran over and destroy the Islamic Republic” and claimed that “none of these aims have been realized.”

He asserted that the Iranian Navy “defends the 600-kilometer coastline of the Persian Gulf,” and said ships the enemy “boasted about entered our waters only once and were attacked” by the Iranian Navy, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, and its Aerospace Force.
Hatami also said the enemy sought to open the Strait of Hormuz but that “on the way there and back they were targeted by cruise missiles and drones,” adding that “We saw them in flames, and I believe they were hit.”
Buildup during ceasefire
Iran’s Army spokesperson Mohammad Akraminia said the Islamic Republic Army used the ceasefire period to strengthen armed forces’ combat capabilities and warned that if the United States attacks again, it is ready to open new fronts.
“Explicit violation of the ceasefire by the United States / The Strait of Hormuz has become the scene of an exchange of fire between the United States and Iran”
In the same remarks, Akraminia said the army regards the ceasefire period as a “wartime period” and claimed the Islamic Republic is “not besiegable or defeatable,” while warning that renewed attack would be met with “new fronts” using “new tools and methods.”
The Islamic Republic Army also claimed full mastery over the Strait of Hormuz and said its situation “will never return to the way it was,” while the article linked the comments to a U.S. decision to temporarily halt an attack planned for Tuesday.
Masrawy described Hatami’s stance that Tehran has “managed to impose its will on the Lebanese file” and warned of a strong response to any future move or attack, while stating that Iranian forces remained “stationed and stable on the southern coasts.”
