Iran targets Strait
Iran’s deputy parliament speaker Hamid Reza Haji Babaei said the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain have been acting as regional contractors for the Israeli regime and its Zionist allies, warning both governments against any mistake that could cost them their entire rule. Haji Babaei made the remarks on Sunday during a virtual session of the Iranian parliament, where he reiterated that Iran will continue its blockage of the Strait of Hormuz to cut the energy and commodity lifeline of the United States, the Israeli regime and their regional allies.
Haji Babaei warned that the smallest mistake by regional countries in assisting the US and the Zionist regime would bring about the tragic tale of life and death for their incompetent rulers, and he said Iranians are waiting for American forces to drown in the "raging seas" of the region. Haji Babaei predicted that Trump will suffer a major defeat in the US midterm elections, saying the defeat "will be the end of the dark era of global arrogance and political thuggery."

Gulf and Israel
The Times of Israel said Arab capitals are assessing whether the 26th Knesset could usher in a new chapter in Israeli leadership and policy or keep in place those currently in power, and it said Arab states expect the right-wing to remain hawkish on Iran. The Times of Israel quoted an Arab diplomatic official saying, "The consequences of these elections for the region extend to as many fronts as Israel is involved in," while Joshua Krasna said, "No matter what the next government is, [Arab states expect] it’s not going to be an Oslo government."
The Times of Israel described a broader consensus around preserving the proactive doctrine Israel developed during the war, including preempting threats and keeping Iranian-backed forces and other hostile actors away from its borders. The Times of Israel also said Mohammad Baharoon expressed skepticism that the Gulf would see any significant shift from a post-Netanyahu government, adding that political forces shaping Israeli policy extend well beyond Netanyahu himself.
Saudi attacks and talks
The Times of Israel said a Houthi projectile injured at least six people in southern Saudi Arabia after it struck a residential area in Najran near the border with Yemen, according to the kingdom’s civil defense agency. The Times of Israel quoted the civil defense saying, "resulting in six citizens being injured and material damage to three homes and three vehicles," and it said the attacks have targeted airports and energy infrastructure in Saudi Arabia on a near-daily basis.
WAM reported that UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan received Saudi Arabia’s defense minister in Abu Dhabi, with the two discussing regional developments and ways to bolster security. The Times of Israel said the talks followed a visit to Riyadh last month by UAE Vice President Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the first trip by a senior UAE official to the kingdom since a deep rift emerged between the two Gulf powers last year.
