NDTV Profit said the Israeli military claimed it targeted “several Hamas commanders” and that the group was “attacked from the air to remove the threat to the forces,” while Al Jazeera Arabic reported that the intensity of the strike pushed some of the dead and wounded into the sea.

Palestine Chronicle reported that the Gaza Ministry of Health said six Palestinians were killed and 14 others were wounded when Israeli warplanes bombed a café at Gaza City’s port, with some wounded reported to be in serious condition.
The BBC and Reuters were not among the provided sources for this specific attack, but multiple outlets in the set tied the casualties to Al-Shifa Medical Complex, where NDTV Profit said most of the injured were taken and Palestine Chronicle said the six killed and 14 wounded were brought.
Competing claims and ceasefire
Israel’s military said the strike targeted “several Hamas commanders” in the Shati area and that the attack was carried out to “eliminate any potential threat to the forces,” while Hamas described the strike as a “massacre” and accused Israel of disregarding Donald Trump’s calls to maintain the “ceasefire” deal.
Middle East Eye said Gaza health officials reported the attack killed at least seven Palestinians, including a child, and that al-Shifa Hospital reported it had received six bodies and 13 wounded, with one victim later succumbing to injuries.
Middle East Eye also quoted an eyewitness, Mohammed Alghoul, saying, “Israeli warplanes fired two missiles at the ‘Sweet and Bitter’ cafe on the fishermen’s port west of Gaza City”.
In the same account, the Israeli military posted on Telegram that it carried out a “precise aerial strike” against “several Hamas commanders” and added that they were planning an attack against Israeli forces operating in the strip.
Humanitarian and political fallout
Beyond the immediate casualties, TRT عربي reported that Gaza’s Ministry of Health said “1,266 Palestinians killed and 4,200 others injured” resulted from Israeli violations of the cease-fire agreement since October 2025, as of Tuesday.

TRT عربي also cited a Food and Agriculture Organization assessment saying “97% of agricultural land is damaged or inaccessible,” with the report stating that as of June 24, 2026 only 3% of Gaza’s agricultural land remained accessible and undamaged.
The Palestine Chronicle account framed the attack as part of a broader pattern, saying the bombing came amid Israel’s continued targeting of Palestinian civilians and perpetration of massacres across the Gaza Strip, and it quoted the Mujahideen Movement calling the café strike a “war crime against civilians.”
In parallel, Palestine Chronicle said the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine condemned the “port massacre” and argued the attack demonstrated Israel’s disregard for the ceasefire agreement, while also warning that the approaching Israeli elections could contribute to further escalation in Gaza.
