The Israeli army had earlier completed airstrikes on towns including Shoukin, Houmin, Deir al-Zahrani, and Koutheriya al-Siyad, and targeted the Amal Movement’s regional headquarters in Nabatieh, destroying it.

In Nabatieh al-Fouqa, Al Jazeera said Israeli artillery fire did not stop at the town’s periphery and also hit Yahmor al-Shuqayf, Arnon, and Kafr Tibnit.
Al Jazeera’s Mazen Ibrahim said Israeli artillery fire also targeted Lebanese Civil Defense teams affiliated with the Interior Ministry when they tried to move toward fires to extinguish them.
In the same reporting, Al Jazeera described thick smoke from Zoutr al-Sharqiya, where Israeli occupation forces are stationed at its outskirts and have been intermittently shelling it with artillery, triggering widespread fires.
Civil Defense hit
The Civil Defense in South Lebanon told Al Jazeera that a martyr and two injured were reported after Israeli forces opened fire on civilians in Nabatieh al-Fouqa.
Al Jazeera also reported that the Israeli army opened fire on vehicles belonging to a team from the Islamic Health Authority while extinguishing the fire and searching for injuries in Nabatieh al-Fouqa.

Kurdistan24 said the Lebanese Civil Defense announced that airstrikes and assaults targeting the Nabatieh area left 16 people dead and 12 others wounded by varying degrees.
Kurdistan24 added that rescue and ambulance teams were working to deal with the effects of those attacks at the targeted sites.
RTL.fr likewise said Lebanese Civil Defense teams transported 16 dead and 12 injured to hospitals after Israeli strikes in the Nabatieh region on Saturday, June 20.

Al Jazeera’s Mazen Ibrahim said Israel is trying to establish a new field reality before any full commitment to the ceasefire, and he described Israeli artillery shelling as continuing to target the borders and populated areas.
The same Al Jazeera reporting said security sources urged residents to exercise caution in returning to towns near the so-called 'Yellow Zone,' because Israeli forces continue to prevent returns through intermittent shelling to keep the area free of civilians.
Kurdistan24 said Iran announced postponing the signing of a 'historic' agreement scheduled for Friday in Switzerland in protest of continued Israeli attacks in Lebanon, casting a shadow over the diplomatic track between Washington and Tehran.
