Ceasefire violations and deaths

Al Jazeera said Israel continued to attack Gaza despite a so-called “ceasefire” that has been in place for over a year, and it described shelling of the Nuseirat refugee camp in which Palestinian teacher Diaa Abu al-Rous was killed. The enclave’s Ministry of Health said the number of people killed since the October 2025 ceasefire to 1,580, and it added that the ministry said another 26 people were injured over the same period.

Israeli strikes on Sunday killed eight Palestinians, including a child, and it reported that five Palestinians were killed in an Israeli drone strike on al-Mawasi and that three Palestinians, including a child, were killed on al-Thawra Street. Winter, displacement, and infrastructure

teleSUR said Israeli Navy fired at the Gaza coast, where 1.8 million people live in precarious conditions as winter arrives, and it framed Saturday’s attacks as violations of the nominal ceasefire agreed in October 2025. Since the ceasefire was declared, supposedly in effect since October 10, 2025, more than 1,580 Palestinians have died from Israeli attacks and fire in Gaza, and it said more than 74,594 Gazans have died since October 2023.

teleSUR said the International Organization for Migration warned that almost the entire population of the Gaza Strip lacks adequate shelter for winter, and it quoted IOM Director-General Amy Pope saying, “Shelter materials must come in quickly, predictably, and at the scale required.” teleSUR added that the UN Human Rights Office warned that Israeli forces were destroying civilian infrastructure and attacking refugee camps, and it stated that OHCHR said Israel declared its intention to expand the military deployment zone to 70% of Gaza’s territory.
