Deir al-Balah strike
An Israeli airstrike in the central Gaza Strip on Sunday killed two Palestinians, including a three-year-old child, according to Palestinian health officials.

Gaza medics said the strike near a bakery in Deir Al-Balah killed one man, Hussam Nusair, and a three-year-old boy, Tayyem Hamdan, and wounded several others.
The Israeli military said it targeted a Hamas fighter and succeeded in killing him, adding that Nasser was involved in attacks on Israeli forces and civilians.
Hamas did not immediately comment on the strike, while Gaza health authorities said around 1,300 Palestinians have been martyred since the ceasefire came into effect last October.
Multiple strikes, diverging tolls
Israeli attacks across the Gaza Strip also killed at least five Palestinians in multiple strikes, including three members of the same family, Al Jazeera reported.
Al Jazeera said an Israeli drone strike targeted a group of Palestinians early on Friday morning north of Khan Younis in southern Gaza, killing three members of the Abdeen family, whose bodies were transported to Nasser Medical Complex.
In Gaza City, Al Jazeera said a drone fired a missile at a group of civilians in the Sabra neighbourhood, killing Hassan al-Deiri, and it reported that a third attack hit a tent of displaced people in the Mashahra area east of Gaza City, killing one person and injuring several others.
Al Jazeera also reported that the latest wave of attacks came despite a United States-brokered “ceasefire” in place since October 2025, and it cited United Nations World Food Programme data showing 46 percent of those surveyed reported going to bed hungry at least once in the previous 30 days.
Hospitals and ceasefire strain
Al Jazeera reported that officials at Gaza’s Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital said cancer medicines have completely run out across the besieged enclave after an Israeli strike damaged the facility’s water tanks, laboratory equipment, and storage areas in Deir el-Balah.

In the same reporting, Al Jazeera linked the hospital disruption to ongoing Israeli strikes that continue to hit hospitals despite the so-called ceasefire.
Hamas said in a statement that the Israeli escalation in Gaza is no longer scattered violations but “a continuing war in various forms,” and it described the movement’s repudiation of the ceasefire agreement.
Hamas renewed its call to mediators and guarantors of the ceasefire to “assume their responsibilities” and to pressure the occupation government to stop its aggression and respect the internationally supervised ceasefire.
