Newlywed killed in Arabsalim
A Lebanese woman was killed on Thursday by an 'Israeli' airstrike targeting a residential home in the southern Lebanese town of Arabsalim, according to Lebanon’s official National News Agency (NNA), just 48 hours after her wedding.

Roya News said the strike targeted the home of Saja Sharara, 28, in the Iqlim al-Tuffah district, killing her instantly and wounding several local residents.
Roya News added that minutes after the initial strike, 'Israeli' aircraft launched a secondary attack on the same village, inflicting further injuries among civilians.
The same NNA account placed the bombardment of Arabsalim within a wider wave of airstrikes, artillery shelling, and military incursions conducted by 'Israeli' forces across southern Lebanese towns and villages.
Roya News also cited Lebanese Ministry of Public Health data saying 'Israeli' aggression in Lebanon has killed over 4,350 people and injured more than 12,300 others since early March.
Competing casualty accounts
Middle East Eye reported that the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health announced the killing of one person during an Israeli strike on the town of Arab Salim in the Nabatieh region of Southern Lebanon on Thursday, and said six others, including a child, were injured.
In the same report, Middle East Eye said people in Southern Lebanon were bracing themselves for a possible escalation in Israeli strikes on Lebanon ahead of Israeli elections in October, citing Al Jazeera’s Friday report.
Haaretz, meanwhile, said Israeli strikes killed a woman and wounded six people in southern Lebanon on Thursday, according to the Lebanese Health Ministry.
Haaretz’s account also framed the incident as part of a broader pattern of Israeli strikes in Lebanon, listing Hezbollah and Israeli elections among the followable topics in its coverage.
UNIFIL spokesperson Kandice Ardiel told UN News that while the latest strikes occurred outside UNIFIL’s area of operations, the impact of the conflict continues to be felt across southern Lebanon and along the “Blue Line”.
UN warns of escalation
UNIFIL said damaged roads, disrupted services and ongoing military activity continue to put civilians at risk in south Lebanon as strikes between Israeli forces and Hezbollah continue, according to the UN’s peacekeeping mission in the country (UNIFIL).

UN News reported that the mission continues to monitor developments closely and report violations, warning that renewed military activity risks undermining the fragile stability achieved in recent months.
On the humanitarian front, UNIFIL said that since the Hezbollah-Israel conflict erupted in March, 900,000 people have received at least one round of emergency cash assistance, while a six-month flash appeal requiring nearly $640 million remains only half funded and is due to end in just four days.
