Blue Line to Yellow Line
A report from Ici Beyrouth says the Israeli army’s “Yellow Line” extends to 55 villages and localities in southern Lebanon, asserting itself as a new symbol of the current phase after its takeover of a vast area comprising those border villages and localities.

The same account describes the “Yellow Line” as a military concept aimed at establishing a secure buffer zone 5 to 10 kilometers deep inside Lebanese territory, while also seeking to empty the area of its inhabitants and remove any presence or military influence of Hezbollah, including its fighters, positions, missiles, tunnels, flags, and symbols.
Ici Beyrouth quotes UNIFIL spokesperson Dani Ghafary telling Houna Loubnan that Security Council Resolution 1701 and the Blue Line remain the only framework recognized by the United Nations for dealing with issues related to the cessation of hostilities and territorial integrity.
The report also says Speaker of Parliament Nabih Berri rejected the idea of colored lines, stating, "there are neither yellow lines, nor red lines, nor green lines, nor any other color, and none of these lines concerns us."
It adds that President Joseph Aoun said, "the negotiations do not signify concession or surrender, but rather a means of solving problems, and it is important that the Lebanese stand by their state in this moment."
Hezbollah, UN observers, May 29
Sawt Beirut International reports that a security meeting on May 29 is expected to be held in Washington, discussing technical and logistical matters between representatives of the Lebanese and Israeli armies under sponsorship and American mediation.
The same article says the meeting will consider two proposals, including the formation of a trilateral committee to monitor violations, track Israeli withdrawals from Lebanese territory, and oversee the Lebanese Army’s deployment, and it also describes a possible activation of the work of the United Nations Truce Supervision Organization (UNTSO) to monitor the ceasefire.
Sawt Beirut International adds that Hezbollah warned against American–Israeli talk about forming an armed force loyal to Israel, modeled on the Free Lebanon Army of 1978 and the South Lebanon Army of 1984, and it quotes MP Hassan Fadlallah saying it would be confronted “as we confront the enemy.”
The report also says the session is expected to be “purely technical,” denying that it is within its remit to address disarming Hezbollah or any cooperation on that file, because “that matter is for the negotiating diplomatic delegation.”
It further notes that UNTSO is described as the United Nations’ oldest peacekeeping mission, founded in May 1948 to monitor ceasefire agreements between Israel and its neighbors, including Lebanon, with observers limited to “monitoring and reporting,” not fighting.
Night operations and attacks
Al-Manar TV Lebanon reports a Walla Hebrew website claim that the “Israeli” army estimates Hezbollah has reestablished a surveillance and intelligence-gathering network opposite the Blue Line in southern Lebanon and is conducting nighttime operations to identify senior field command positions and launch attacks against them.

The same Al-Manar TV Lebanon item frames the claim as part of a broader set of “Latest News” items, including an “Israeli Media” note that the army starts reducing forces in South Lebanon in response to US orders.
Al-Manar TV Lebanon also includes an “Iran’s General Qaani to Israeli Army” message saying, “If You Don’t Withdraw from South Lebanon, Epic of Year 2000 Will Be Repeated,” tying the reported operational focus to a demand for withdrawal.
In parallel, Sawt Beirut International says Hezbollah’s criticisms extend to the political and diplomatic path followed by President Joseph Aoun to end the ongoing crisis, describing a rift between the party and Aoun.
Sawt Beirut International quotes Hezbollah’s MP Hassan Fadlallah saying, "The authorities’ breach of their pledge not to proceed with negotiations until a ceasefire constitutes a serious insult to the blood of the people," as he asked how one can sit at the same table with those who continue their crimes.
