Teen killed in Haboush
A Lebanese teenager was killed Monday when a cluster bomb left behind by Israeli attacks exploded in the southern town of Haboush, according to Lebanon’s official National News Agency.

The NNA said Mohammed Ali Ibrahim died from wounds sustained in the blast in the town’s al-Arid neighborhood, and it also reported that another teenager was injured in the explosion.
The victim’s father, Ali Ibrahim, had been killed in an earlier Israeli attack on southern Lebanon, the agency said.
Anadolu Ajansı reported that Israel has continued military operations in Lebanon since launching a new offensive in March, with its forces advancing into additional areas of the south.
Anadolu Ajansı also said that on June 26, Lebanon and Israel reached a US-mediated framework agreement providing for a gradual Israeli withdrawal in exchange for the deployment of the Lebanese army and the disarmament of armed groups, including Hezbollah.
Houla blast after bombing
On Sunday, Lebanon’s National News Agency reported that the Israeli army carried out a “massive explosion” in the southern Lebanese town of Houla in the Marjeyoun district.
Mehr News Agency said the Israeli bombing happened despite a ceasefire in place, and it reported no immediate reports on possible casualties or damage.
Türkiye Today similarly described the Israeli operation in Houla as a “massive explosion,” and it said the incident took place in the Marjeyoun district according to NNA.
Türkiye Today added that Israeli warplanes struck the town of Majdal Zoun in the Tyre district early Wednesday, as NNA reported.
Türkiye Today said the renewed fighting effectively ended a cease-fire that had been in place since November 2024, and it described a June framework agreement providing for a gradual Israeli withdrawal in exchange for the deployment of the Lebanese army and the disarmament of armed groups.
Rules of engagement and targeting
صحيفة المنار said Hebrew reports indicated that troops inside southern Lebanon were discussing a modification to fire instructions that limited soldiers’ ability to respond to Hezbollah attacks or to thwart them.

The outlet said military sources involved in the fighting said the current instructions were limited to dealing only with direct threats, compared to earlier periods when the response was more forceful.
صحيفة المنار reported that forces deployed in advance positions inside Lebanese territory faced repeated drone attacks and the firing of anti-tank shells and missiles, with restrictions on military retaliation.
The outlet also said that despite fortifying inside reinforced buildings and strengthening deployment sites, Hezbollah fighters had become able to pinpoint soldiers’ locations and target them repeatedly from long distances, and it added that four soldiers were wounded in one of the recent attacks.
Al-Manar TV Lebanon framed the situation as continued Israeli bombings in South Lebanon, including Khiam and Zawtar Al-Sharqieh, with an Al-Manar reporter describing “Israeli enemy carries out a new bombing” in both towns.
