Israeli Drone Strike Kills Palestinian Child While Collecting Water East Of Gaza City

Israeli drone strikes killed a Palestinian child and injured another Friday while they were collecting water east of Gaza City, according to Gaza’s Civil Defense, which said the attack happened as they were “filling water behind Al-Omari Mosque east of Gaza City.”

The Anadolu Ajansı report said the strike came amid continued Israeli violations of the ceasefire agreement announced on Oct. 10, 2025, and it cited Gaza’s Health Ministry figures of 1,059 Palestinians killed and 3,429 injured from those violations.

Al Jazeera also reported that Israel killed three Palestinians in Gaza despite the “ceasefire,” with the strike taking place on Wednesday near al-Hilu station, which houses a private specialist hospital and a fuel station in Gaza City.

Al Jazeera added that, earlier, the Israeli military said on Telegram it killed four Hamas fighters in separate strikes in northern Gaza, identifying Wael Mahmoud Ali Labad, Muaz Mohammad Hassan Ahmad, Sameh Abu Kamil and Akram Ashraf Hamad Labad.

Across the accounts, the attacks were described as continuing even as large-scale fighting had largely paused under the October ceasefire framework.

Al Jazeera said the Wednesday strike occurred near al-Hilu station in Gaza City, and it cited local sources through the Palestinian Wafa news agency.

The same Al Jazeera report said the Israeli military claimed on Telegram that it killed four Hamas fighters in separate strikes in northern Gaza and named Wael Mahmoud Ali Labad, Muaz Mohammad Hassan Ahmad, Sameh Abu Kamil and Akram Ashraf Hamad Labad.

Anadolu Ajansı reported that the drone attack happened east of Gaza City as children were fetching water, and it described the setting as one where many displaced Palestinians rely on tents and shelters that lack regular water networks.

Anadolu Ajansı also stated that the ceasefire violations have killed 1,059 Palestinians and injured 3,429 others, and it placed those figures alongside broader casualty totals it attributed to Gaza’s Health Ministry.

In parallel, Al Jazeera said the Gaza Government Media Office documented 3,465 Israeli violations of the agreement during the truce period, while also citing its own count that at least 1,053 Palestinians have been killed and 3,406 wounded since the truce took effect.

Al Jazeera said that during the “ceasefire,” the Israeli military continued expanding the area under its control inside Gaza while issuing forced displacement orders.

It reported that Israel prohibited Palestinians from entering territory beyond the so-called “Yellow Line,” effectively putting about 53 percent of the enclave out of the bounds of the residents, and it added that the land expanded to 64 percent of Gaza by March.

Al Jazeera further stated that on May 28, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he had instructed the military to expand its control to more than 70 percent of the Gaza Strip.

Al-Jazeera Net described another water-collection incident Friday, saying a Palestinian child was martyred and two others were injured by a bomb dropped by an Israeli drone as they were filling water east of Gaza City, with the Civil Defense apparatus saying the victims are from the Toutah family.

That same Al-Jazeera Net account said the drone targeted them while they were behind the Omari Mosque and added that the violations come as the report marks a thousand days since the genocide Israel is carrying out in the Gaza Strip.
