Airstrikes across southern Lebanon
Israeli drone strikes targeted Al-Nabatieh Al-Fawqa in southern Lebanon on Tuesday afternoon, and Israeli forces also carried out a demolition operation in Al-Nabatieh Al-Fawqa and Kfar Tebnit less than half an hour earlier, according to شبكة يافا الإخبارية.
The same report said the drone strike on Al-Nabatieh Al-Fawqa came with reports of two people injured, while Israeli military vehicles were reported moving near Zawtar Al-Gharbiya and Zawtar Al-Sharqiya accompanied by heavy machine-gun fire.
At noon on Tuesday, شبكة يافا الإخبارية reported that the Israeli army set fire to homes in Zawtar Al-Sharqiya, and smoke clouds rose from several locations in the town, as Lebanon’s official National News Agency observed.
In parallel, جريدة الرياض said Israel carried out airstrikes on southern Lebanon on Saturday after its army issued an evacuation warning to residents of twenty towns, including the city of Nabatieh.
جريدة الرياض reported that the airstrike on al-Rihan in the Jezzine District killed its mayor, and an AFP correspondent said Nabatieh was almost deserted with artillery shelling through the night and up to Saturday.
Officials, Hezbollah, and warnings
جريدة الرياض quoted the Israeli army’s spokesperson for Arab media, Avichay Adra’i, posting on X an “urgent warning” to residents of twenty villages and towns to evacuate toward the northern part of the Zahrani area.
The same article said the Israeli army had last month classified the area south of the Zahrani River as a “combat zone,” and has since been targeting it, while also announcing that its air force intercepted on Saturday “a suspicious aerial target” crossing from Lebanon into Israeli territory.

جريدة الرياض also reported that Hezbollah said its fighters repelled an Israeli force advancing toward Majdal Zoun with “repeated rocket salvos” and forced it to withdraw.
In a separate account, إذاعة حسنى described a political and security phase in negotiations in Washington, while saying the Israeli occupation forces launched air strikes early Thursday on Wadi Burghaz and the town of al-Shahabiyeh in southern Lebanon.
إذاعة حسنى added that the Lebanese News Agency reported an Israeli drone targeted a house in the al-Maqasid neighborhood in Nabatieh in the pre-dawn hours of Thursday, causing a fire to erupt there and in several cars parked in front of it.
Negotiations, ceasefire, and casualties
Across the reporting, the conflict is framed as continuing despite ceasefire efforts, with شبكة يافا الإخبارية saying Israeli airstrikes continued to target wide areas in southern and eastern Lebanon after an April 16 ceasefire announcement that was later extended on April 23 and again on May 15.
“Direct Middle East: Israeli strike on Majdel Zoun: five dead, including three Civil Defense members | Direct L'OLJ / April 28, 2026 at 06:07, updated at 20:22”
إذاعة حسنى said the memorandum of understanding between the two sides continues to be observed while Israeli violations of the ceasefire persist, and it described the Lebanese government insisting on a ceasefire and withdrawal of occupying forces from areas they occupied in southern Lebanon.
In the same account, it stated that earlier—Wednesday—21 people were martyred and others injured in Israeli raids on towns and villages in southern Lebanon, and it cited the Lebanese Health Ministry reporting 9 martyrs in Tyrdaba in the Sidon District.
L'Orient-Le Jour reported that an Israeli strike on Majdel Zoun left five dead, including three Civil Defense members, and said the Health Ministry described the three rescuers as trapped under the rubble after being targeted during a rescue mission.
L'Orient-Le Jour also quoted Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam denouncing the attack as a “new war crime characterized as committed by Israel,” while saying the government would mobilize efforts to compel Israel to stop ongoing violations of the ceasefire agreement.
