Raids, mosque arson, deaths

Israeli forces and illegal Israeli settlers escalated violence across the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem, with TRT World describing “coordinated illegal Israeli settler rampages” and “torched mosques” pushing the territory “to the brink of a full-scale regional crisis.”

Israeli soldiers have intensified their offensive in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem, raiding at least 20 towns and villages as well as a United Nations facility, demolishing homes and arresting dozens of Palestinians, as Arab states condemned escalating settler attacks against Palestinians and their property

TRT World said the US Embassy in Israel announced temporary travel restrictions for its personnel and their families, urging them to avoid all non-essential movement and public gatherings through at least Wednesday.

In the village of Jalud, south of Nablus, TRT World reported a Palestinian family was forced to abandon its home after nearly three months of escalating harassment, after settlers set the family's house on fire, cut electricity supplies, and blocked access to food, water and medical assistance before taking over the property.

Shafaq News reported that Israeli forces carried out raids across several cities and towns in the occupied West Bank on Monday, and said 134 Israeli settlers entered the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque through the Mughrabi Gate under heavy protection from police and special forces.

Shafaq News also said Israeli troops opened live fire at a vehicle during an operation in Qalqilya, while local sources did not report casualties.

UNRWA raid and competing claims

Al Jazeera reported that Israeli soldiers intensified their offensive by raiding at least 20 towns and villages and a United Nations facility, demolishing homes and arresting dozens of Palestinians, as Arab states condemned escalating settler attacks.

Al Jazeera said soldiers fired tear gas and detained staff at a vocational training centre run by UNRWA in the Qalandia refugee camp, north of occupied East Jerusalem, where “45 staff and around 80 students were present for summer training.”

Al Jazeera’s Nida Ibrahim said, “They’ve all been told to step aside while the Israeli forces continued firing tear gas,” and she added that the centre is “one of several UNRWA sites under threat.”

DW reported that after deadly clashes in which two Israelis and four Palestinians were killed, “Settlers carried out revenge attacks,” and said the Israeli military launched what it said was a “counter-terrorism” operation in the area, restricting movement and detaining residents.

DW also said Palestinian officials accused Israeli settlers of attacking villages and torching two mosques in the occupied West Bank, following the Friday clashes.

Numbers, displacement, and fallout

TRT World cited UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) data documenting 3,033 Israeli settler attacks across the occupied West Bank between 1 January 2025 and 30 June 2026, and said the monthly rate of attacks in 2026 averaged 190 per month.

TRT World reported that in the first four months of 2026 alone, 1,988 Palestinians were forced to abandon their homes, exceeding the total displacement recorded for the entirety of 2025 by 20 percent.

TRT World said the Ramallah, Nablus, and Hebron governorates experienced the highest concentrations of settler violence and land confiscation, and described a population of roughly 700,000 to 750,000 illegal Israeli settlers living in approximately 250 illegal settlements and outposts.

Al-Jazeera Net reported that Israeli occupation forces carried out new raids while settlers continued attacks, and said the U.S. Embassy in Israel announced an extension of travel restrictions to the West Bank for U.S. government employees and their families until tomorrow Wednesday.

Al-Jazeera Net added that OCHA said it has documented more than 1,330 incidents involving Israeli settlers in the occupied West Bank since the start of 2026, and that “77 Palestinians have been killed” by Israeli forces or Israeli settlers since the start of the year through last Saturday.
