Demolitions and strikes

Israeli occupation forces conducted demolition in the town of Al-Qantara, according to an Al-Manar TV Lebanon correspondent, as the situation in southern Lebanon remained volatile.

Qatar news agency (QNA) said the Israeli entity continued its aggression against southern Lebanon on Monday in violation of a truce that began on April 16, citing the Lebanese National News Agency.

QNA reported that an Israeli drone targeted the vicinity of Litani River in the town of Qaaqaaital-Jisr, and that occupation forces carried out demolition in the town of Shamaa between Al-Qusayr and Al-Qantara and in the town of Taybeh.

QNA also said the city of Meiss el-Jabal, along with several other border towns in southern Lebanon, was being subjected to systematic destruction targeting homes, buildings, and infrastructure.

In parallel, The التلفزيون العربي (Al Arabiya TV) said the Israeli army renewed its bombardment of southern Lebanon, with aggression continuing since March 2 of this year.

That report said Israeli airstrikes targeted villages in Bint Jbeil and the area between Yaṭir and Beit Lif, as well as the town of al-Khiam in southern Lebanon.

It also described Israeli aircraft bombing the town of Qantara in the Marjeyoun District, leaving four people dead, including two children, according to an initial toll released by the Ministry of Health.

Casualties and medics

Multiple reports described casualties from Israeli airstrikes across southern Lebanon, including attacks tied to medical response.

The التلفزيون العربي said seven people were martyred, including two medics, and another was injured today, Monday, as a result of Israeli airstrikes, naming villages and towns including Bint Jbeil and al-Khiam.

It added that the National News Agency reported an Israeli aircraft attacked a house in the town of Kfar Sour, causing the martyrdom of a person, and that when an ambulance belonging to the 'Islamic Health Authority' arrived, Israeli aircraft launched a second strike on the same location, resulting in the martyrdom of two medics and injury to another.

In a separate incident, the same report said Israeli aircraft bombed the town of Qantara in the Marjeyoun District, leaving four people dead, including two children, according to an initial toll released by the Ministry of Health.

جريدة القدس (Al-Quds) reported that Lebanese medical sources said six citizens sustained various injuries as a result of an airstrike carried out by Israeli occupation aircraft today, Monday, targeting the town of Qa'qa'iyat al-Jisr in the Nabatieh district of southern Lebanon.

That report also said an Israeli drone directly targeted the vicinity of the Litani River basin in the same town, causing a panic among residents who were trying to check on their properties.

It further stated that the Israeli occupation army renewed strict warnings against returning to homes in about 80 villages and areas in the south, describing them as closed military zones.

Truce under strain

The reports framed the Monday violence as continuing despite a truce, with each outlet describing violations and the operational pattern on the ground.

QNA said the Israeli entity continued its aggression against southern Lebanon on Monday, in violation of the truce that began on April 16, and it tied the renewed actions to specific locations including Qaaqaaital-Jisr, Shamaa, and Taybeh.

QNA also said on Sunday night the Israeli entity carried out a series of explosions targeting several homes in Doubiyeh area, west of Meiss el-Jabal, and that demolitions and large-scale bulldozing operations were reportedly ongoing.

جريدة القدس described the airstrike on Qa'qa'iyat al-Jisr as coming amid a temporary truce that began last Thursday, while saying the field had witnessed repeated violations that threatened the stability of the fragile agreement.

It added that the occupation army carried out extensive demolition operations in the town of Shemaa in Nabatieh and another in the area between Al-Qusayr and Al-Qantara in the Marjayoun district.

That same report said the occupation army exploited the truce days to carry out demolition operations of homes and facilities in border villages, complicating the future return of displaced people.

In parallel, Al-Manar TV Lebanon’s live reporting included claims that Israeli enemy violations continued in south Lebanon and that Hezbollah responded to Israeli violations by striking an Israeli site in Al-Bayyada.

Hezbollah and political positions

Beyond battlefield reporting, the sources also described retaliatory actions attributed to Hezbollah and competing Lebanese political views about negotiations.

جريدة القدس said Hezbollah announced the destruction of four Israeli tanks in various areas of southern Lebanon using explosive devices it had planted earlier, and it described the party’s framing as a “natural response to repeated Israeli violations of the ceasefire agreement and the incursion of occupation forces into Lebanese territory.”

The same report said the occupation army claimed in an official statement that it carried out attacks targeting those it described as 'saboteurs' in the Bint Jbeil area, alleging that they violated the truce understandings and approached the front defensive line.

It added that Israeli media discussed the so-called 'Yellow Line,' described as an imaginary security strip drawn by the occupation army inside Lebanese territory with a depth of up to 10 kilometers along the Blue Line.

On the political front, جريدة القدس reported that Lebanese President Joseph Aoun affirmed that the Lebanese state seeks, through anticipated direct negotiations, to permanently establish a cessation of hostilities, and it said Aoun clarified that the top priority is to end the Israeli occupation of the southern regions and ensure a complete withdrawal of forces.

The report also said Aoun noted continued coordination with the American mediator in this regard.

Separately, The التلفزيون العربي quoted Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz saying: 'I and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu directed the army to destroy the infrastructure in the border villages of Lebanon.'

Displacement and aid needs

The sources also emphasized the humanitarian impact and the scale of displacement and casualties, tying it to the ongoing destruction of border areas.

The التلفزيون العربي said the head of the Lebanese Red Cross, Antoine Zoghbi, stressed their need for all kinds of assistance and told Al Arabiya TV from Beirut that 900,000 Lebanese had fled their areas, with a large number still on the roads.

It said Zoghbi called on the international community to provide urgent aid to support thousands of the displaced, and it described the situation in the country as very difficult.

In parallel, جريدة القدس reported that the Disaster Risk Management Unit in the Lebanese government Serail revealed figures related to the displacement crisis, where the number of displaced people in shelters exceeded 117,000.

That report said the periodic report clarified that officially registered displaced families amounted to more than 30,000, suffering from difficult humanitarian conditions amid ongoing military threats.

It also stated that the total death toll from the Israeli aggression, ongoing since early March, had risen to 2,387 martyrs, in addition to approximately 7,602 people injured with various wounds.

Finally, it described international and local circles awaiting what the coming days will bring in terms of diplomatic efforts to transform the fragile truce into a permanent and comprehensive ceasefire.
