West Bank and Gaza
The Israeli military operations in the northern part of the occupied West Bank on Wednesday killed at least 11 people, with the UN describing the development as “worrisome,” and left more than 20 injured, while the Israeli forces said they had “eliminated nine armed terrorists.”
“Large-scale Israeli operation in the West Bank, a United Nations vehicle targeted by fire in Gaza The Israeli military operations carried out on Wednesday in the West Bank risk worsening an already catastrophic situation in the Palestinian territory, the United Nations warned”
In Gaza, France 24 reported that a United Nations vehicle, part of a humanitarian convoy coordinated with Israeli authorities, was hit by Israeli fire on Tuesday, with no deaths, according to a UN spokesperson.

Hamas’ Health Ministry said there is a new toll of 40,534 dead in the Palestinian territory since the start of the war with Israel, as France 24 relayed.
In the West Bank, Ouest-France with AFP said Israeli armored vehicles entered the Nour Chams refugee camps near Tulkarem and Al-Fara near Tubas, and that “Medical teams have been impeded since the start of the assault” with entrances to Nour Chams camp and governorate hospitals closed to hamper their work.
UN condemnation and deaths
The UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights denounced a series of “planned extrajudicial executions” by Israeli security forces in the occupied Palestinian territory, urging Israeli authorities to put an end to extrajudicial executions.
The UN said that over the past two weeks, nine Palestinians were killed in circumstances that raised serious concerns, including incidents where the use of force appeared “unnecessary or disproportionate.”

In one case described by UN News, on May 8 a 30-year-old Palestinian wanted by Israeli authorities was shot in the Old City of Nablus by an undercover unit, and UN services reviewed surveillance footage showing “an infiltrating agent [who] killed the man as he was attempting to surrender.”
UN News also reported that nearly 800 students in East Jerusalem were deprived of schooling after UNRWA said its schools remained “hopelessly empty,” with Roland Friedrich saying “The schools that have provided education for decades are now silent.”
Tulkarem camp operations
In Tulkarem, WAFA said Israeli occupying forces withdrew on Thursday evening from the city of Tulkarem and its camps, Nour Shams and Tulkarem, after a wide-scale assault that lasted 48 hours and resulted in the “martyrdom of four civilians.”
“On Thursday, January 4, the Israeli army withdrew from the Nour Shams refugee camp after 38 hours of invasion”
WAFA reported that the assault destroyed major roads, water and sanitation networks, cut electric pylons, destroyed houses, and damaged vehicles, and that immediately after the withdrawal teams from the Palestinian Red Crescent and Civil Defense entered Nour-Shams camp.
WAFA also described killings in Nour-Shams camp during the offensive, including Ayed Mahmoud Abo Al-Heja, 62, who was killed by occupation snipers inside his home, and Mohamed Samer Jaber, 26, Majid Majid Daoud, 21, and another martyr whose identity had not yet been revealed.
Separately, WAFA said on May 16, 2026 that Israeli forces stormed the Al-Mahjar neighborhood of Nur Shams refugee camp in the east of Tulkarm city and injured a young man in the shoulder and thigh, with the Red Crescent ambulance crews transferring him to hospital.
