In central Gaza, a drone strike hit a tent in Deir al-Balah, killing at least three Palestinians, including an 8-year-old boy and his grandfather, medical officials said.

In the occupied West Bank near Ramallah, the Palestinian Health Ministry reported a 15-year-old from Jerusalem was killed by a gunshot to the head, and emergency crews transported Amir Jaber to the hospital from the al-Bireh area after attempting to resuscitate him, the Palestinian Red Crescent Society said.

Voices condemn, numbers diverge

B’Tselem said in a report that “the widespread, unprecedented killing of Palestinian children and teenagers in the West Bank is the result of a broader Israeli policy that enables the killing of Palestinians with virtually no accountability,” and it tied the spike to “the military’s declared easing of open-fire regulations at the end of 2021.”

Truthout reported that between October 2023 and June 2026, B’Tselem said Israeli forces killed more than 240 children and teenagers in the occupied West Bank, including 54 killed in 2025 alone.

In Gaza, NBC News reported that Israel’s military said it was targeting a militant in a drone strike, but did not immediately name him or say if he was killed, while the Gaza Health Ministry maintained detailed casualty records seen as generally reliable by U.N. agencies and independent experts.

In the West Bank, Le Monde reported that Ramallah and Al-Bireh governor Laila Ghannam told AFP, “Today, we witnessed a clear-cut execution in broad daylight,” after Israeli forces shot 15-year-old Amir Ahmad Jawad Jaber during a raid in the Umm al-Sharayit neighborhood in Al-Bireh.

What comes next, what’s at stake

NBC News said Israel says it is targeting militants, often saying they were planning attacks on Israeli troops who hold more than 60% of the Gaza Strip, while the Gaza Health Ministry does not give a breakdown of civilians and militants.

NBC News also reported that Israel’s campaign in Gaza has killed more than 73,058 Palestinians, including those killed since the ceasefire, and that the Hamas-led Oct. 7 attack on Israel killed some 1,200 people and saw 251 taken hostage.

In the West Bank, WAFA said the Jerusalem Governorate described the fatal shooting of 15-year-old Amir Ahmed Jawad Jaber as a continuation of “daily killings and extra-judicial executions,” and it warned that treating such cases as mere statistics encourages the occupation to persist.

WAFA added that the governorate said the incident underscores findings of a UN Independent International Commission of Inquiry report released last week, documenting evidence of deliberate targeting of Palestinian children in the occupied territories since October 7, 2023, by Israeli forces and colonist militias.
