Israeli Forces Shoot And Kill Palestinian Youth Mustafa Taha Mustafa Al-Khatib In Salfit Raid

Israeli forces shot and killed Palestinian youth Mustafa Taha Mustafa al-Khatib during a raid on his home in Salfit, with the Palestinian health ministry saying he died “at dawn today after being shot by Israeli occupation forces in Salfit”.

The Palestinian Prisoners Society said Israeli forces killed two Palestinian men during detention operations in the Jenin and Salfit governorates, identifying the other man as Mohammed Nazem Zayed, 29, from Jenin.

In Sarta, West Bank, AP reported that Israeli forces shot and killed a Palestinian man inside his home, and said the Israeli military confirmed the man had thrown objects at the soldiers.

Middle East Monitor and Anadolu described Mustafa Taha Khatib being critically wounded when Israeli soldiers opened fire inside the house, with the family saying Israeli troops prevented paramedics from reaching him for nearly two hours after the shooting.

Al-Jazeera Net said the family woke up at dawn on Thursday as occupation forces stormed the town of Sarta, west of Salfit, and that the Israeli army prevented the ambulance from entering before remaining on the site for about two hours after Mustafa was wounded.

Al Jazeera reported that al-Khatib’s uncle Yassin Khatib described the killing as a “cold-blooded execution,” saying it was obvious Israeli forces forced their way in without giving him time even to open the door or get dressed.

Anadolu, as quoted by Middle East Monitor, also included Yassin Khatib’s account that “The ambulance reached the area, but the army prevented it from entering,” and that the army remained there for about two hours after Mustafa was shot and injured.

The Palestinian Prisoners Society asserted that Israeli forces left al-Khatib’s body inside the house after ransacking it, while the Israeli military told AFP its troops fired at someone “throwing objects” at soldiers during a raid.

Al-Jazeera Net added that after the shooting incident, Israeli forces arrested Mustafa’s relatives two hours after the shooting, and that only then were the medics allowed to enter.

The Palestinian Prisoners' Club, as cited by Al-Jazeera Net, said Israeli forces executed two Palestinians during arrest operations in Jenin and Salfit governorates, and described the killings as an extension of “field executions” practiced by Israeli occupation forces.

Al Jazeera said Gaza’s Health Ministry reported that Israeli violations of the ceasefire, which took effect on October 10, 2025, have already killed 1,031 Palestinians and injured 3309 others.

In the same report, Al Jazeera said that since Israel’s genocidal war began in October 2023, more than 73,000 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza, while it also said the Palestinian health ministry put the West Bank death toll since the beginning of the year at 72.

Al-Jazeera Net stated that the Palestinian Health Ministry announced the number of Palestinian martyrs due to Israeli escalation in the occupied West Bank has risen to 72 since the start of the year, including 17 children, 5 women and two elderly.

Middle East Monitor provided a broader West Bank context, saying that since Oct. 8, 2023, Israeli escalation by the army and occupiers in the West Bank has killed 1,173 Palestinians, wounded 12,666, led to the arrest of about 23,000 and displaced 33,000, according to official Palestinian figures.

The Palestinian Prisoners Society said it demanded the international human rights system and the UN assume their legal and moral responsibilities regarding the escalating crimes committed by Israeli forces, and called for holding Israeli leaders accountable for extrajudicial killings and field executions.
