Tel Aviv protest arrests
Israeli police arrested nine protesters Saturday during a demonstration in Tel Aviv against Israeli occupier violence in the occupied West Bank, according to Israeli media reports and protest organizers.
“According to a report by the international Ahl al-Bayt News Agency (ABNA), hundreds of people gathered on Kaplan Street in Tel Aviv on Saturday to protest against the violence of the settlers and the Israeli military crackdown in the occupied Palestinian territories”
The Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper reported that police detained nine people among hundreds of demonstrators, alleging they had participated in an “illegal protest,” and it said the suspects blocked Kaplan Street in central Tel Aviv.
The Mothers Against Violence protest group said more than 200 people took part in the demonstration and accused police of using force against demonstrators, while KAN reported police detained the nine demonstrators for protesting against “the war.”
The protest came one day after Israeli occupiers, backed by the army, attacked the Palestinian town of Tell near Nablus in the northern occupied West Bank, killing four Palestinians, and two Israelis were also killed in a shooting during the confrontation, according to Palestinian and Israeli sources.
Accusations and competing frames
In Tel Aviv, the protest was organized by the left-wing Democratic Front for Peace and Equality (Hadash) and its allies, and media reports and organizers said Israeli forces arrested nine people during the demonstration.
The Mothers Against Violence group said that more than 200 people participated and accused the police of using force against the protesters, including the nine whom it confirmed had been arrested, while local media reported that Israeli police said the demonstrations were held without a permit and began 'disturbing public order and blocking the road.'
Haaretz described the wider context as thousands of Israelis rallying against the government in a series of demonstrations across the country, and it said eight left-wing protesters were arrested Saturday in Tel Aviv.
In the West Bank, Anadolu reported that Israeli forces arrested 75 Palestinians and injured eight Saturday during raids and attacks across 22 towns and villages in seven governorates, tying the protest wave to the violence around Tell near Nablus.
US condemnation and next moves
The US condemned violence by “all parties” in the occupied West Bank, with a State Department spokesperson telling Anadolu, “We condemn violence by any party in the West Bank,” as Israeli violence continued to escalate.

The same State Department statement said the US was “in regular dialogue with partners about improving stability and security in the West Bank,” and it linked a “stable West Bank” to Israel’s security and “this administration’s goal to achieve peace in the region.”
TRT World reported that Israeli illegal settlers raided the town of Tell for the second consecutive day, installing a mobile structure and razing land, and it said the incursion came a day after illegal Israeli settlers, protected by Israeli forces, attacked Tell near Nablus, killing four Palestinians and injuring four others.
The Palestinian foreign ministry condemned “the massacre and terrorist crime committed by occupier militias, in partnership with the Israeli occupation forces” and urged the international community to take “practical and immediate measures” to stop the attacks and provide international protection for Palestinians, while TRT World said the Palestinian health ministry put the 2026 total at 86 Palestinians killed across the occupied West Bank since the beginning of 2026.
