The BBC said NNA reported that Israeli jets and drones carried out at least four strikes in Tayr Debba, just east of the port city of Tyre, and that two Israeli strikes killed three other people in the nearby village of Deir Qanoun el-Nahr.

In the same reporting, the BBC described an attack in the centre of Sidon, where an AFP correspondent said they heard an explosion before seeing a car burning, and two people were pulled from the vehicle by rescuers.
Separately, the Guardian reported that Israel bombed Tyre, killing eight and injuring at least 32 people, and that it issued forced evacuation orders for the historic Christian quarter of the ancient city for the first time.
The Guardian said the Israeli strike hit the al-Masaken neighbourhood without warning on Tuesday morning, sending smoke plumes high above the city’s buildings and igniting fires.
Hezbollah, Iran threats, and officials
The BBC reported that Hezbollah said it carried out more attacks on Israeli troops occupying parts of the country’s south, and it also said Iran rejected a warning not to continue its campaign against Hezbollah.
In the BBC account of the wider exchange, it said Iran’s leaders are demanding that any deal to end its war with the US and Israel also covers Lebanon, complicating negotiations with US President Trump.

The BBC also quoted Hezbollah’s framing of its actions, saying its fighters targeted gatherings of Israeli troops and military vehicles in the southern Bayada and Yohmor areas with rocket barrages and shellfire.
The Guardian added that Christian religious leaders from three different denominations in Tyre appealed to the global community to “take immediate and serious action to spare the old quarter of Tyre from destruction and human tragedies”.
The Guardian further said the clergy warned that “The old city is not merely a residential area,” describing it as “the historical and human heart of Tyre, home to thousands of civilians, including families, children and the elderly.”
Human impact and what’s at risk
The BBC said Lebanon’s health ministry says at least 3,696 people have been killed during the conflict, while Israeli authorities say 30 soldiers and four civilians have been killed on both sides of the border.
“From Washington to Tehran, all eyes are on Lebanon”
It also reported that almost one million people in Lebanon, a fifth of the population, remain displaced from their homes and that 1.4 million need humanitarian aid, according to the UN.
The BBC said UN human rights chief Volker Türk announced on Wednesday that he was sending a team of human rights investigators to Lebanon at the request of the Lebanese government, to look at possible human rights violations committed by all sides since the start of March.
In the Guardian’s account of the Tyre evacuation, it said the Christian quarter had been considered a safe zone amid a city otherwise under bombardment, and that hundreds of people fled after the forced evacuation announcement.
The Guardian described the stakes for civilians and heritage, quoting Ali Badawi of Lebanon’s ministry of culture that “Some archaeological artefacts were damaged when rubble fell on them,” as it detailed damage to sites in Tyre.
