Drone strike in Nabatieh
A Lebanese man identified as Ali Sabah died in a hospital after an Israeli drone struck his vehicle in the Nabatieh district in southern Lebanon, according to Lebanon’s state news agency as cited by Anadolu Ajansı.
“The National News Agency said the man, identified as Ali Sabah, died”
Anadolu Ajansı also reported that Lebanon’s Health Ministry said two people were wounded in an Israeli drone strike in Nabatieh, with the ministry saying the attack was carried out in two strikes and the second hit a medical response team that arrived to treat the wounded man, damaging an ambulance.
The same Anadolu Ajansı report said Israel continues its aggression in Lebanon that began on March 2, killing 4,335 people and wounding 12,277 while displacing more than 1 million, according to Lebanese authorities.
In a separate Lebanon-focused morning brief carried by Today, L’Orient Today said an Israeli drone double-tap strike yesterday killed one person and injured four others aboard a car in the city of Nabatieh, then targeted the al-Rissala Scout rescuers dispatched to the scene, damaging their ambulance.
Houthis hit Tihamah
In Yemen, the country’s legitimate government said Tuesday that Iran-backed Houthi militias struck a cargo vessel named the "Tihamah" near the Bab el-Mandeb Strait off the coast of southern Yemen, killing at least four people.
ASHARQ AL-AWSAT English reported that the Yemeni government’s transport ministry accused the Houthis of launching "three successive ballistic-missile strikes" while the vessel was sailing through the Bab el-Mandeb Strait.
The same report said the Houthi attack sparked a fire on board, killed four crew members—three Pakistanis and one Indonesian—and injured four others, as well as a member of the rescue team.
ASHARQ AL-AWSAT English added that a source from Yemeni government forces based in the port city of Mokha said five people had been killed, while British maritime security company Vanguard reported at least two people were killed and did not provide information about a possible culprit.
Shipping and regional stakes
ASHARQ AL-AWSAT English said attacks on ships in the Bab el-Mandeb Strait have increased uncertainty for shipping companies already hobbled by the closure of the Strait of Hormuz.

The report cited Kpler data saying an average of 32 ships per day passed through the Bab el-Mandeb strait last week, compared with an average of 50 ships per day transiting the strait prior to the blockade.
It also said the Houthis attacked the government-held port city of Mokha on the Red Sea coast and other areas of the country, deepening fears over threats to strategic shipping routes and a potential return to civil war.
Anadolu Ajansı, meanwhile, framed the Lebanon violence as part of an ongoing negotiating process under US sponsorship, saying that on June 26 Beirut and Tel Aviv signed a framework agreement calling for Israel’s gradual withdrawal from all occupied Lebanese territory in exchange for the deployment of the Lebanese army and the disarmament of armed groups, referring to Hezbollah.
