Electric GT, V8 illusion
Mercedes-AMG unveiled the all-electric GT 4-Door Coupe on a new AMG.EA platform, pairing three axial-flux motors with an 800-volt electrical architecture and a 106 kWh battery.
“surrounded by a hard-edged V-8 soundtrack”
The flagship GT 63 is described as delivering up to 1,153 hp and 1,475 lb-ft of torque, with acceleration figures including 0 to 60 mph in about 2.0 seconds and 0 to 124 mph in 6.4 seconds.

MotorTrend says the car’s cabin is “surrounded by a hard-edged V-8 soundtrack” that rises and falls with the driver’s right foot, even though the vehicle is “an electric car.”
The system is presented as an illusion generated by real-time mixing of more than 1,600 sound files, and Mercedes-AMG also ties the performance to a high-output electrical architecture designed to handle outputs of more than 1,350 hp.
Axial-flux, charging, range
Multiple outlets describe the drivetrain as three axial-flux motors with two mounted on the rear axle and one on the front, and they link the motor technology to YASA, a British electric-motor specialist acquired by Mercedes-Benz in 2021.
InsideEVs says the GT 63’s three-motor setup delivers “1,153 horsepower and 1,475 pound-feet of torque,” and it also states the car uses 1,600 audio files to “sonically interpret” different driving situations.

For charging, MotorTrend says the battery can accept peak charge rates of more than 600 kW on coming hyperfast chargers and that it can take the battery from 10 to 80 percent state of charge in just 11 minutes.
InsideEVs adds that the AMG GT’s peak charging power is 600 kilowatts and that the 106 kWh battery uses 2,660 cylindrical cells grouped into 18 modules, with a roughly 700-kilometer WLTP range translating to roughly 315 miles on the U.S EPA cycle.
Production and tech flagship
Motor Illustrated says production begins in Germany “this summer” and that the GT 4-Door Coupe is the first production model developed on the bespoke AMG.EA platform, initially offered as the building block for GT 55 and GT 63 configurations.

The same outlet describes the battery pack as using 2,660 cylindrical NCMA lithium-ion cells with direct oil-based cooling surrounding each individual cell, and it says the 800-volt system supports DC fast charging at up to 600 kW.
InsideEVs frames the AMG GT as a technology flagship, describing “active aerodynamics” under the company name “Aerokinetics,” including a panel near the front that automatically extends from the underbody at 75 miles per hour.
For the broader stakes, MotorTrend says Mercedes-AMG expects the GT 4-Door Coupe to return a range of 370 to as much as 430 miles depending on specification on the European WLTP test cycle, and it notes that the GT63 arrives in the U.S. in early 2027 while the GT55 is scheduled to go on sale in late 2026.
