Khamenei warns of plots

Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei warned against plots to sow discord among Iran’s people, saying the “blind scheme and plot of the enemy — following the imposed war, economic pressure, and propaganda and siege — is to sow discord and social fragmentation.”

In a message on Thursday, Khamenei tied the warning to the anniversary of the first session of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, which was officially inaugurated on May 28, 1980, and he extended congratulations on Eid al-Adha and the inauguration anniversary to Iranian people and lawmakers.

Khamenei described the Islamic Consultative Assembly as "the essence of the nation, the manifestation of religious democracy, and the pillar of law and legislation in the Islamic Republic," and said it plays a vital role in exercising the will of the people.

He also said three months had passed since the “third Sacred Defense,” referring to US-Israeli aggression on Iran that began on February 28 and came to a halt on April 8 following Iran’s strong retaliatory attacks against US and Israeli bases across the region during forty days of defense.

The message praised Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf’s efforts in elevating the country and urged lawmakers to safeguard national unity that led to victory in the recent war.

Bezhkian targets America, Zionism

Iranian President Masoud Bezhkian said in a cabinet meeting that the main enemy of his country is “America and Zionism,” accusing them of seeking to sow discord among Muslims.

Bezhkian urged overcoming internal differences and strengthening cooperation among regional states, warning that targeting would not be limited to Iran and could extend to other countries such as Iraq, Turkey, Pakistan, and Saudi Arabia.

He praised neighboring countries’ positions and highlighted Afghanistan’s cooperation on the water issue, while also praising cooperation of Pakistan, Iraq, Azerbaijan, and Turkey in facing attempts to provoke conflicts.

Bezhkian called on Iranians to continue support and solidarity under difficult conditions, and he said the government would do all it can to serve citizens while urging official media to support awareness and cooperation to avoid energy crises in summer and winter.

In the same speech, he affirmed that national unity and solidarity prevent surrender and insisted that all Iranians stand by their country despite ethnic and cultural diversity.

Kuwait water attack dispute

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) denied an attack on Kuwait’s water and power facilities and accused the United States and Israel of being behind it to incite discord.

In a statement issued today, Friday, the IRGC said that “the United States bases and forces in the region, as well as the Zionist regime in the occupied territories, are among our main targets,” and it urged regional countries to be vigilant against stirring strife by the US-Israeli axis.

Earlier, Kuwait’s Ministry of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy disclosed that one of Kuwait’s power generation and water desalination plants was attacked by the “heinous Iranian aggression” against Kuwait, causing material damage to some components of the plant.

The Kuwaiti ministry said technical teams and emergency crews began work immediately under approved emergency plans to deal with consequences and maintain operational efficiency with full coordination with security authorities and relevant bodies to secure damaged sites.

The dispute over responsibility for the Kuwait incident unfolded alongside broader Iranian warnings about plots to sow discord and Bezhkian’s insistence that external targeting could extend beyond Iran.
