Djokovic ties Federer at Wimbledon
Novak Djokovic beat Arthur Rinderknech in four sets at Wimbledon to equal Roger Federer’s record of 105 men’s singles match wins at the grass-court major.

The match ended 7-5, 6-4, 1-6, 7-6 (7-4) as Djokovic, the 39-year-old seven-time champion, reached the Wimbledon fourth round.

Djokovic said, "To be able to make history in this sport is a huge honour and a huge privilege," after his win.
The BBC said nine-time women’s champion Martina Navratilova is now the only player to have won more singles matches (120) than Djokovic (105) at Wimbledon.
Joke, then next opponent
After being told he had equalled Federer's record of 105 wins, Djokovic joked, "I propose a match between me and Roger for 106!" as he reached the fourth round.
The BBC reported Djokovic will face Roman Safiullin for a place in the quarter-finals after the Russian qualifier stunned Joao Fonseca 6-3 6-3 6-3.

In the ATP Tour report, Djokovic also framed the moment as a dream tournament, saying, "Particularly here, it's always a been a dream childhood tournament of mine."
The beIN SPORTS report said Djokovic got over the line for his 105th win at All England Club in a match that took over three hours to reach the fourth round.
Safiullin, Sinner, and stakes
With Djokovic now tied with Federer on 105 Wimbledon singles wins, the next match at the Wimbledon fourth round sets up a direct path toward the record he referenced as "106".

The BBC said defending champion Jannik Sinner reached the fourth round with a 6-4 6-3 6-4 win over Jenson Brooksby, and that Sinner will face Roman Safiullin’s quarter-final opponent after Safiullin’s win over Joao Fonseca.
The ATP Tour report said Djokovic produced a statement performance on Wednesday night against Stefanos Tsitsipas to defeat the Greek No. 1 across three slick sets.
Fox Sports said Djokovic meets Russian qualifier Roman Safiullin, who beat Brazilian Joao Fonseca in straight sets, for a place in the 66th Grand Slam quarter-final and 17th at Wimbledon.
