Novak Djokovic Dismantles Stefanos Tsitsipas 6-3 6-4 6-2 to Reach Wimbledon Third Round

Novak Djokovic beat Stefanos Tsitsipas 6-3 6-4 6-2 in the second round at the All England Club to reach the Wimbledon third round for the 20th time on Wednesday (1 July).

Djokovic, who needed only an hour and 38 minutes, won 33 winners and made seven unforced errors as he rolled through Centre Court without dropping serve.

The match was the pair’s first meeting on grass, and Djokovic’s win extended his 12th successive victory over Tsitsipas.

Djokovic said, "I like the terminology 'vintage', it brings back the best days and you feel very satisfied and joyful on the court when you're playing this way," after clinching the straight-sets win.

Next up for Djokovic is Arthur Rinderknech, the French 25th seed, for a place in the second week.

Jannik Sinner and Aryna Sabalenka also reached the third round on Wednesday, with Sky Sports saying the big names all tasted victory as the tournament moved into day three.

Sinner overcame Nuno Borges 7-6 (7-4) 7-6 (7-2) 6-4 on Centre Court, and Sky Sports quoted Sinner saying, "Second set was very, very tough," as he described the test on grass.
