Ondo weighs $250M-$500M
Ondo Finance, a New York-based tokenized-assets firm, is evaluating an acquisition valued between $250 million and $500 million, with the review described as part of its growth strategy as crypto infrastructure consolidation accelerates. CoinDesk reported that Ondo is considering wealthtech targets and other subsectors, while a person with knowledge of the matter said no formal advisers have been appointed. Bloomingbit similarly said Ondo was reviewing acquisition targets valued at $250 million to $500 million to expand in the crypto infrastructure market, citing CoinDesk on July 30.
CoinDesk also quoted an Ondo representative saying, "We are not in conversations with any party at this time," as the company continues to evaluate the market as part of normal business operations. FinanceFeeds added that the proposed valuation range would be much larger than the amounts Ondo has raised through traditional venture funding, while noting Ondo has not named formal advisers and the process could fail to lead to a transaction.

No talks, but ONDO moves
In emailed comments to CoinDesk, an Ondo representative said, "We are not in conversations with any party at this time," as the company weighed expansion through mergers and acquisitions.
CoinDesk reported that Ondo was founded in 2021 by former Goldman Sachs executives and that it issues tokenized U.S. Treasuries and stocks as part of its tokenization platform.

Pluang said a wallet transferred an additional 4.105 million ONDO tokens to Coinbase, pushing total deposits above 8.1 million ONDO in less than 24 hours, a surge it linked to increased exchange inflows.
Pluang also said Ondo Finance's ONDO token price correction began after stalling near $0.41 resistance within a descending channel, with the token dropping about 7% from its recent high and testing moving averages around $0.346–$0.354.
CoinDesk reported that ONDO was trading 6% higher over 24 hours, around $0.42 at publication time, following the acquisition review information.
Dealmaking stakes and targets
CoinDesk said the sector recorded 89 transactions worth $3.2 billion in the first quarter and $12.9 billion of disclosed deal value in the second, the second-highest quarterly total on record, as tokenization and institutional infrastructure became key acquisition targets. FinanceFeeds described Ondo’s contemplated move as potentially diversifying beyond its current real-asset products, with the New York-based company examining targets in wealthtech and other financial sub-sectors. CoinDesk listed recent transactions including Keyrock's acquisition of BlockFills' trading and brokerage assets, Kraken's $550 million purchase of Bitnomial, and Bullish buying investment platform Equiniti for $4.2 billion.
Pluang said Ondo Finance launched the Ondo Network to solve the tradeoff between speed and transparency in blockchain for institutions, using private execution and decentralized verification to offer centralized exchange-like speed without losing non-custodial features. FinanceFeeds framed the stakes for ONDO holders as a potential impact from any token issuance, equity financing, or new debt, even if a token does not confer direct ownership rights in the operating company.
